Consultant: Project: Designed By: Case: Date: Design of Masonry Retaining Wall

This document provides design details for a masonry retaining wall, including material properties, wall section dimensions, load calculations, and load combinations for design. It lists input parameters such as unit weights, material strengths, and active earth pressure coefficients. It then defines the wall section and preliminary dimensions. Load calculations are presented, including unfactored and factored vertical and horizontal loads. Finally, factored load combinations are specified for structural design of the wall.

** To solve for the actural stress in the reinforcement, the transformed moment of inertia and the distance from the neuteral

k=sqrt((r*n)^2+2*r*n))-r*n
It=1/3*(1mm/mm)*(k*d)^3+n*As*(d-k*d)^2
y=d-k*d

The nominal shear resistance is the lesser of:Vn1=Vc+Vs or Vn2=0.25*fc'*bv*dv

dv=max(d-a/2,0.9*d,0.72*h)
The factored longitudinal shear force at the critical section of the footing is:
Vufwmax= 30.63 Kn/m
Before the nominal shear resistance can be calculated all the variables used in the above equations need to be calculated.
