ACTIVITY 1:

Let’s Think About This:


Upon reviewing the history of the development of the concept of entrepreneurship, we now
come to see that it is a combination of the actor and the action taken. Answer the following
questions:
1. Do you think that entrepreneurship is a mindset or a process?
 Entrepreneurship is both a mindset and a process. Why it is a mindset? Because
I think enable people to identify and make the most of those opportunities, also
enable people to overcome and learn from setbacks, and succeed in a variety of
settings. But how can you succeed if you’ll just do things unplanned and in random
fashion, that is where process comes in. Because any innovative idea that
succeeded, was all because it followed a process.
2. In these present times, what do you think is the most relevant kind of innovation?
 I think the most relevant kind of innovation in present time is the Product Type of
Innovation. Why Product Type of Innovation? It is because we are now in an era
where everything is high technology and as much as everybody wants to have an
easier way of living, they will certainly look for something much more advanced
than the other, and as an entrepreneur this is a complete opportunity to introduce
a new product.

Let’s Think About This:


We’ve had a look at the different facets of an entrepreneur’s characteristics. Answer the following
questions based on your personal observations on entrepreneurs you know or know of:
1. Do you think that one cluster of the PEC is dependent on another?
 No, I personally think that a cluster of PEC is not dependent on another as each
PEC contains characteristics different from the other. However, if in terms of
fulfilling the entrepreneurial functions effectively these competencies therefore
depend on each other.
2. Do you think that a person can be considered an entrepreneur if he possesses at least
one of the clusters but not the rest?
 I personally think it is a no. Because all entrepreneurs I am familiar with, contains
all the PEC as I observed. Also, for you to become a good entrepreneur, I
personally think that you must have all the characteristics coming from those
PEC’s, why, because for you to become one you must have to know the goals you
want to set and seek information in order to plan things systematically. Plus, an
entrepreneur is always a risk-taker that looks for and grabs opportunities for them
to work in. Lastly, an entrepreneur for me is about loving what you do and what
you make. The passion, the drive, and the self-confidence to do things just to have
that pleasure that exceeds beyond earning up cash is what a true entrepreneur for
me and that is why I think that I can’t call a person to be an entrepreneur if he/she
only possess one cluster.
