Project RISE: Enhancing School Leadership

The Project RISE aims to strengthen the research and innovation competencies of 19 school leaders in San Fernando District, Camarines Sur through workshops and activities. The project addresses a need identified in a previous study which found school leaders were moderately competent in strategic leadership. Workshops will cover creating innovations to improve student and teacher performance, understanding the importance of training, and using online assessment platforms. School leaders will conduct action research and present innovations to engage in exemplary performance through evidence-based practices. The project will be implemented through consultation, proposal approval, training sessions, and submission of accomplishment reports.

Program Title: Project RISE (Research and Innovation of School Leaders towards Exemplary
Performance of San Fernando District

Program Description The conduct of action research and innovation are based
on the study presented by our group in masters entitled
Leadership in the Making: A Quantitative Study Among
School Heads in San Fernando District. It was based on the
survey conducted on Competency 1-Leading Strategically
indicator 4. It was rated Moderately Competent with a
score of (3.3).
This is in accordance with the DepEd Order No. 16,
s. 2017 titled Research Management Guidelines (RMG) to
establish a comprehensive framework for managing
research including the Basic Education Research Fund
(BERF). The Department of Education continues to
strengthen the culture of research and evidence-based
decision-making in basic education.
Significant of the project The project is highly significant to the school leaders to
assess the real-time problems experienced by teachers in
which they can suggest possible interventions and
technical assistance. The outcomes of action research may
help them create plans for better governance and
leadership of their school.
Values Commitment to perform and develop quality research and
innovation.
Competencies * Create innovation for pupils’ and teachers’
improvement.
* Acquire a better understanding of the importance of the
training workshops in implementing research.
* Institutionalize technology-enhanced online and offline
assessment platforms through innovations.
Beneficiaries 19 School leaders (Principal and TIC)
Budgetary School leaders are also advised to bring their own food
Requirement/Service provision (snack and lunch) during the duration of the
seminar.
