INTRODUCTION

We totally understand why some people love lumpia because what's not to love?

This crispy and crunchy roll with savory or sweet ingredients can be both ulam or

dessert.

Filipino food holds a whole lot of pride for authenticity and decadence in their

cuisine. When tourists travel to Asia, people often have a tendency to compare Filipino

cuisine to other Asian cuisines. This is often a challenge for some because most Filipino

food is just a mix and juxtaposition from other foreign influences. The Philippines, being

colonized by several countries in the past, namely Spain, America, Japan, and China

among others, have all molded the way modern-day Filipinos live and provide

sustenance to their families.

Lumpia are various types of spring rolls commonly found in Indonesia and the

Philippines. Lumpia are made of thin crepe pastry skin called "lumpia wrapper"

enveloping savory or (in the Philippines) sweet fillings. It is often served as an appetizer

or snack, and might be served deep fried or fresh (unfried). Lumpia are Indonesian and

Filipino adaptations of the Fujianese and Teochew popiah, introduced to the islands

since at least the 7th century.

In Indonesia lumpia has become a favorite snack, and is known as a street hawker

food in the country. In the Philippines, lumpia is one of the most common dishes served

in gatherings and celebration.

In the Netherlands and Belgium, it is spelled loempia, which is the old Indonesian

spelling for lumpia, and has also become the generic name for "spring roll" in Dutch. A

variant is the Vietnamese lumpia, wrapped in a thinner pastry, though still close in size

to a spring roll, in which the wrapping closes the ends off completely, which is typical

for lumpia.

A general partnership is a business arrangement by which two or more individuals

agree to share in all assets, profits and financial and legal liabilities of a jointly-owned

business structure. Such partners agree to unlimited liability, which means either of

their personal assets may be liable to the partnership's obligations.

In fact, any partner may be sued for the entirety of a partnership's business debts

In business, when you hear the word partnership, it generally refers to a general

partnership. In a general partnership, there are two or more partners. Each is liable for

any debts or judgments taken on by the business. There is no limited liability, which

means all the partners’ assets can be taken in a lawsuit or be targeted to settle debts

should the partnership become insolvent. Any partner can be sued for the full amount

of business debts.

Another attribute of the general partnership is that every partner has so-called “agency

powers,” which means any partner can bind the entire business to a contract or

Businessdeal.

The benefits of the general partnership is structure and control. Unless by other

agreement, profits are shared equally among the partners. Usually, there is a contract

of some sort that outlines how profits and losses will be divided.

The partners have near complete discretion over who can become a member of the

partnership. Unless otherwise provided in the partnership agreement, no one can

become a member of the general partnership without the consent of all partners.

A partner can assign their share of the profits and losses and right to receive

distributions. This is called a transferable interest. This interest can be applied, with

agreement, towards paying to satisfy a judgment against that partner.

Another benefit of the general partnership is that it does not take much paperwork

to start one. There is no need to file papers with the state as with more specific entities

like corporations or limited liability partnerships. All the partners need to do is draft a

general partnership agreement.

PROPOSED NAME OF THE BUSINESS

word “Amor” which means Love and “Lumpia” a savoury snack made of thin crepe

A General Partnership is the most simplistic type of legal structure designed for the

situation in which two or more people are collaborating in some type of business

activity.  The entities involved in a partnership can be individuals, corporations, or

trusts.  By default, the profits and losses generated by a General Partnership are shared

equally among its partners.  However, typically a partnership agreement is created to

further define the rights, responsibilities, and duties of each partner, as well as the

terms of perpetuity if one of the partners withdrawals from the partnership.  Financial

responsibility is shared equally among the partners, with each partner jointly and

severally liable for all business debts and obligations which means that the partners are

jointly liable for any and all legal claims against any of the partners.  The taxation of a

General Partnership is calculated at the individual level.

Advantages of a General Partnership

 Easy to Establish

 Simplified Tax Filing

Upfront, a General Partnership is relatively easy to establish.  The paperwork is limited

and is only slightly more complicated than the paperwork required for a Sole

Proprietorship.  One of the most significant benefits of a General Partnership is

simplified tax filing, since no corporate forms or double taxation is required.  Each

partner files a U.S. Return of Partnership Income (IRS form 1065).  This form dictates

the partner’s responsibility for the profits and/or losses of the General Partnership,

which are then claimed by the partner on his or her U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

(IRS form 1040).

Disadvantages of a General Partnership

 No Separate Business Entity from Partners

 Partners Liable for Each Others’ Actions

MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL

Human Resources Needs in the Business Plan

The trick to writing about your business's human resources needs in the management

plan section of your business plan is to be able to describe your human resources needs

specifically.

To write something such as, "We'll need more people once we get up and running" will

impress no one.

“Rolled by hand, made with love.”

16
Solidariarty Company
AMOR LUMPIA
BNU3 Ema town Center Meycauayan Bulacan
09364530283-Email:AmorLumpia

Begin with the bottom line. How many employees will your business need and what will

it cost you? This is what will be of most interest to the people reading your business

plan.

Then consider how your business's human resources needs can best be met. Will it be

best to have employees or should you operate with contract workers or freelancers? Do

you need full-time or part-time staff or a mix of both?

Outline your staffing requirements in this section of your business plan, including a

description of the specific skills that the people working for you will have to have.

Now you're ready to calculate your labor costs. You can calculate the number of

employees you will need by figuring out how many customers each employee can

serve. As an example, if it takes one employee to serve 150 customers, and you

forecast 1500 customers in your first year, your business will need 10 employees.

Next, determine how much salary each employee will receive, and total the cost of

salary for all your employees.

Add to this the cost of Workers' Compensation Insurance (mandatory for most

businesses) and the cost of any other employee benefits, such as company-sponsored

medical and dental plans to calculate your total labor cost.

“Rolled by hand, made with love.”

17
Solidariarty Company
AMOR LUMPIA
BNU3 Ema town Center Meycauayan Bulacan
09364530283-Email:AmorLumpia

You also need to describe how you're going to find the staff your business needs and

how you're going to train them.

Your description of staff recruitment should explain whether or not sufficient local labor

is available and how you're going to recruit staff if you need to go further afield.

When you're writing about staff training in your business plan, you'll want to include as

many specifics as possible. What specific training will your staff undergo? What ongoing

training opportunities will you provide your employees?

Even if your plan for your business is to start as a solo act, you need to include this

section on Human Resources Needs in your business plan to demonstrate that you've

thought about the staffing your business may require as it grows and that your

business has (or will have) human resources policies in place. Business plans are about

the future, and how your business is going to succeed.

WORK FLOW

Workflow and Productivity: Turn Insights into Actions

Companies, large and small, are ripe with big data options. Everyone knows they need

to collect it, but the important next step comes from evaluating the results and

generating reports on the potential value of those findings. Why did you start collecting

this set of data points in the first place? What actions need to be taken as a result of

the insights gained? Is there a process that can be improved to remove roadblocks?

What data sets can be added to make this more accurate for improving business

processes?

“The goal is to equip your team to drive significant and lasting value. Disparate source

systems, ungoverned information, and unreliable data block their view to operational

excellence. Give them tools to turn meaningful insights into shared action,” says

Rajagopalan.

This type of event analysis can offer new insights that turn complex data sets from

siloed systems, into digestible information that drives business intelligence

INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

ECONOMICAL

Street foods create employment

Each street food enterprise is generally small in size, requires relatively simple skills,

basic facilities and small amounts of capital, yet they are very numerous and have

considerable potential for generating income and employment. Bogor, with a population

of 250 000, has 18000 street food enterprises, nearly one for every 14 people. Roughly

26 percent of workers active in the informal sector in Bogor are directly employed as

street food vendors (Chapman, 1984). Similarly, the International Labour Organisation

has found that street vendors comprise 29 percent of the active urban labour force in

Central America (Allain, 1988).

Some of those who, because of economic and social changes or individual

characteristics, have difficulty obtaining jobs in the formal sector find work in the street

food industry. The street food operation often involves entire families in the

procurement of raw materials, preparation and cooking as well as the sale of food.

Worldwide, women play a very large role In the street food industry. Surveys have

found women to be involved in 90 percent of enterprises in the Philippines, 53 percent

in Senegal and 40 percent in Indonesia (Tinker and Cohen, 1985).

Street food sellers are attracted to this occupation because of the possibility of earning

relatively high incomes. In Southeast Asia, the average earnings of a vendor may be

three to ten times more than the minimum wage and they are often comparable to the

wages of skilled labourers employed in the formal sector. In Malaysia, net incomes

varying, from US$4 to $36 (with an average of $16 per day) are derived from daily

sales ranging in value from $10 to $120 (Andringa and Kies, 1989).

The relatively low capital expenditures of street food businesses are also attractive for

certain types of sellers. Furthermore, vendors can choose their work hours, they have

few constraints on their movements and are self-employed. In spite of the benefits of

street food trade, vendors may have to work long hours under adverse conditions and

the risks are borne exclusively by the seller. Vendors can face problems with local

officials and may also have to deal with criminals who try to extort "protection money"

from them. In. addition, their profession is often considered to be of low status

SOCIAL

From ancient Greece to Pompeii, from China to Turkey and beyond, street food has a

long and colorful history. Today, around 2.5 billion people eat street food every day.

Especially in Asia, street food has become an urban mainstay and is part of the local

food scene in large cities and small towns alike.

Many Asians buy the ready-to-eat foods and beverages on their way to work or during

their lunch breaks. Consumers come from every social class and businessmen are often

seen eating their lunches next to construction workers from the countryside. The

benefits of street food seem to be apparent to everybody: It is cheap, easily accessible,

often nutritious, and offers an endless culinary variety of traditional dishes for every

taste.

Yet, street food enterprises are often not welcomed by local authorities. Their activities

are seen as a hindrance to «modernization.» Hawkers selling food and beverages are

considered to be part of the informal sector and thus benefit from competitive

advantages. Unlike licensed eating establishments, they have considerably lower

operating costs. Finally, officials scrutinize street food vendors for having poor hygiene

practices and for contributing to the spread of diseases. In spite of these concerns,

street food in Asia is much better than its reputation. The significance of the street food

industry for Asian societies has been ignored for too long by politics. In effect, street

food bears positive social, economic and nutritional aspects, which need to be

recognized by local authorities and governments

groups in big cities. Urban population growth has stimulated a rise in the number of

generally small in size and require only basic facilities and skills for the preparation of

MARKETING ASPECTS

Marketing is one of the most important things a business can do. Not only does

marketing build brand awareness but it can also increase sales, grow businesses and

engage customers. On a base level, marketing is useful for customer education. Sure,

you know the ins-and-outs of your product but do your consumers? In order to buy into

Common questions

In Amor Lumpia's general partnership, each partner possesses 'agency power,' meaning any partner can legally bind the partnership in contracts and business deals . This can lead to increased efficiency and flexibility as any partner can make decisions and act without waiting for consensus. However, it also poses significant risks, as poorly made decisions by one partner can commit the entire partnership to unintended obligations and affect all partners due to the unlimited liability structure of the partnership .

In a general partnership like Amor Lumpia, partners have unlimited liability, meaning each partner's personal assets can be used to settle business debts and liabilities . This setup imposes significant personal financial risk, as partners are individually and collectively responsible for any legal claims against the partnership, irrespective of who incurred the debt or liability . This risk can deter individuals from entering such partnerships and affects partners' willingness to bind the partnership into contracts, knowing their assets are on the line.

In Amor Lumpia's general partnership, management responsibilities are shared among partners, allowing for collaborative decision-making and diverse input . This can enhance creativity and innovation due to varied perspectives and expertise. However, having multiple decision-makers may also slow down processes due to the need for consensus, potentially leading to inefficiencies or stalemates, especially if there are conflicts among partners . Such dynamics necessitate clear communication and strong conflict resolution mechanisms to ensure effective operations.

The ease of establishing a general partnership as seen in Amor Lumpia is a major benefit, as it requires less paperwork compared to more complex structures like corporations. Partners can simply draft an agreement without state filings . This simplicity facilitates quick and flexible start-up processes. However, the absence of formal documentation can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts if disagreements arise. Moreover, the lack of separation between personal and business liabilities means partners face higher personal financial risk compared to limited liability entities, potentially deterring risk-averse individuals .

Amor Lumpia's operational workflow begins with planning, followed by production and ingredient preparation. Food undergoes a testing phase to ensure quality before it is sold. This rigorous process reflects a commitment to maintaining high standards . By incorporating a 'pass or fail' food test, the business can mitigate quality issues before products reach customers, thereby maintaining its reputation and customer satisfaction. However, if the process is too rigid, it may slow down production and lead to delays if frequent failures occur, highlighting the need for efficient execution and problem-solving when issues arise .

In Amor Lumpia’s general partnership, taxes are calculated at the individual level, with each partner filing a U.S. Return of Partnership Income (IRS form 1065), and then claiming their share on their individual income tax returns (IRS form 1040). There is no double taxation as seen in corporations, where profits are taxed at both the corporate level and again as shareholder dividends. This setup simplifies tax filing and minimizes tax liability compared to corporations .

Amor Lumpia could manage potential partner conflicts by implementing a comprehensive partnership agreement that clearly defines roles, responsibilities, and decision-making protocols . Regular meetings could be established to address issues and maintain transparency. Moreover, a conflict resolution process involving mediation or arbitration can be outlined to efficiently handle disputes. Investing in team-building activities and open communication channels would foster trust and collaboration, reducing misunderstandings and personal tensions. Training partners in negotiation and conflict management skills would further equip them to handle interpersonal challenges effectively .

Amor Lumpia employs a market segmentation strategy based on socio-demographic, behavioral, and geographical factors, targeting males and females aged 16 and above, and focusing on urban customers in Meycauayan Bulacan . This approach allows the business to tailor marketing efforts to distinct customer needs and preferences, increasing engagement and conversion rates. By understanding their consumers' behaviors, such as readiness to purchase, they can optimize marketing messages to resonate more effectively, ensuring resources are efficiently used to capture and retain the target audience .

Amor Lumpia's reliance on local labor offers benefits like community integration and local knowledge, but it also presents challenges such as limited talent pools, potentially affecting the business's ability to scale rapidly . High turnover or skill shortages could slow down expansion efforts, and competition from other employers might exacerbate recruitment difficulties. To address these challenges, the company could invest in training programs, establish partnerships with local education institutions, or explore non-local recruitment channels to bolster its workforce readiness for growth .

In Amor Lumpia, each partner's capital contribution directly affects their equity interest and possibly their influence within the partnership . While contributions are equal, ensuring equal ownership percentages and decision-making power , this equality can foster a sense of fairness and shared responsibility. However, it may also cause tension if some partners feel their non-financial contributions (e.g., experience, skills) are undervalued. These dynamics underscore the importance of both equitable financial contributions and acknowledgment of intangible assets brought by each partner.
