Subject: Request for Pruning of Hazardous Trees in Labuyo Elementary School
Dear Engr .Geronimo N. Mantuhac
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to bring your attention to a
matter of utmost importance regarding the safety of the students and staff at Labuyo Elementary
School. I kindly request your assistance in addressing the potential hazards posed by several trees on the
school premises.
As a concerned member of the community, I have noticed that certain trees within the school grounds
have grown to a size where they now pose a risk to the safety and well-being of the students and staff.
These trees are in close proximity to the school building, walkways, and play areas, which increases the
likelihood of accidents or damage during severe weather conditions, such as storms or strong winds.
The trees in question have overgrown branches, some of which are dead or weakened, making them
susceptible to falling. These falling branches not only pose a direct threat to the individuals present in
the vicinity but can also cause damage to structures, vehicles, or utility lines. Given the unpredictability
of natural disasters, it is crucial that we take preemptive measures to mitigate potential risks.
Therefore, I kindly request your esteemed department to initiate a prompt assessment of the trees at
Labuyo Elementary School to identify those that pose a potential hazard. Subsequently, I urge you to
take appropriate action by coordinating with the relevant authorities to carry out the necessary pruning
or removal of hazardous trees as deemed fit by certified arborists or tree care professionals.
I understand that your department is responsible for disaster risk reduction management, and ensuring
the safety of the community is one of its primary objectives. By addressing this concern, you would not
only be fulfilling your mandate but also safeguarding the lives and well-being of the young students and
staff members who frequent Labuyo Elementary School.
I kindly request that you keep me informed of the actions taken to address this matter. I would be more
than willing to offer any assistance or support required to ensure the safety of our community members.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I sincerely hope that you will give due consideration to
my request. Your swift action in this regard will be highly appreciated by the entire community.
Yours faithfully,
STEPHEN F. HONCULADA
