1. Check for proper identification nos of the trays, Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
identification marks for safety related trays, cable trays
are earthed and earth continuity maintained as per
drawings/specification.
2. Cable trays shall be checked and ensured free from any Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
sharp edges, obstruction and foreign materials.
3. Check the continuity of cable trays for entire route shown Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
in the cable schedule prior to laying of cable as per
respective cable schedule.
4. Check the cables to be laid for mismatch with Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
drawings/cable schedule.
5. Check the availability of cables as per cable schedule Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
duly inspected and accepted.
6. Check the availability of cable identification tags and Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
clamps for fixing cable.

9. Deviations, if any are observed, the changed route as Si t e En g i n e er Si t e- i n - c h a r g e
suggested and approved shall be recorded and as built
drawings shall be submitted to the client.

METHOD STATEMENT – AC DUCT ERECTION
1.0 OBJECTIVE :

To p r o vi d e g u i d e l i n e s f o r t h e e r e c t i o n o f A C D u c t i n a l l t h e a r e a s o f t h e p l a n t .

L o a d i n g / U n l o a d i n g To o l s a n d Ta c k l e s , Water l e ve l , Spanners, scaffolds,


aluminum ladder, PP rope, spanners, etc.

Examine the drawing of AC duct erection layout with respect to Site Engineer Site-in-charge
1 the general layout.

Shift the AC duct from stores to location by means of suitable Site Engineer Site-in-charge
2 truck / trailer.

Carry out Physical verification for any possible damage. Site Engineer Site-in-charge

Check for Necessary lifting tools and tackles in relation with load Site Engineer Site-in-charge
4 to be lifted and ensure safe lifting

Check for the Level, alignment of the foundation / structure Site Engineer Site-in-charge
5 before starting the erection.

Assemble AC ducts at site and provide proper supports wherever Site Engineer Site-in-charge
6 necessary

Perform erection either manually or by using crane. Site Engineer Site-in-charge

7. Proper scaffolds with access to be installed so
as to bear the load of the bus duct.
8. Proper manual handling procedure to b e
f o l l o we d d u r i n g t h e l i f t i n g a n d e r e c t i o n o f b u s t
duct. Chain pulley block used for erection
should be of desired capacity and test
certificate is to be ensured.
9. Full body harnesses to be ensured.
10. W elding machine to be connected to proper
p o we r d i s t r i b u t i o n b o a r d wi t h E L E C B , m e t a l c l a d
plug and socket, doubly earthed. Earthing cable
t o b e p r o vi d e d w i t h c r i m p i n g l u g .
11. Hose of the gas cutting set to be checked by
soup solution and hose clamp to be used. Flash
back arrester to be ensured at both torch and
c yl i n d e r e n d . C o r r e c t s i z e n o z zl e s t o b e e n s u r e d
and proper clearance to be maintained between
j o b a n d n o zzl e . C o n d i t i o n o f t h e r e g u l a t o r , h o s e
and torch to be checked. Stone lighter to be
used.
12. Grinding W heel rpm to be checked and to be
e n s u r e d f o r c o r r e c t n e s s . G r i n d i n g m / c wh e e l
guard is to be ensured.
13. Proper PPEs are to be ensured for all the
a c t i vi t i e s .
