Intended Learning Outcome: At the end of this module, the student must have:
1. Described the types, forms, and formats of assessment using the paradigm provided.
2. Identified the forms of assessment from the situation provided.
3. Created a 30 items questionnaire using the 2 formats of assessment.
Introduction
Assessment establishes measurable and clear students learning
outcomes for learning, implementing a systematic way of gathering, analyzing
and interpreting evidence to determine how well student learning matches
expectations, and using the collected information to inform improvement in
student learning. Assessment is divided into three types: diagnostic, formative and
summative. There are three forms of assessment: Assessment Of Learning
(external and summative assessment), Assessment As Learning (focus on teacher
agency), Assessment For Learning (formative assessment). Either summative or
formative assessment is often categorized as either objective or subjective
formats. Objective assessment is a form of questioning which has a single correct
answer (identification, true or false, matching type, multiple choice) while
subjective assessment is a form of questioning which may have more than one
correct answer or more than one way of expressing the correct answer (extended-
response questions and essays).
