Competency: Orient the teachers on the inclusive education program and be able to foster a fair and respectful
environment.
II. RATIONALE:
The Department of Education (DepEd) issues the Policy Guidelines on the Provision of
Educational Programs and Service for Learners with Disabilities in the K to 12 Basic Education Program. This is
pursuant to Section 3 of Republic Act No. 10533 known as the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 and
Section 8 and 8.2 from its Implementing Rules and Regulations. The enclosed policy guidelines shall provide an
over-all direction and guidance in the organization, management, and implementation of appropriate programs,
services, and interventions for learners with disabilities at the different levels of governance in the Department.
Likewise, this policy may serve as guide for the external stakeholders and partners in addressing the needs of
learners with disabilities.
In accordance with the above, the SPED Coordinator of Fausta Salazar Como Memorial
School, under the leadership of the School Head, is conducting an orientation about the
Implementation of the Special Program Education for teachers on September 8, 2023.
This activity is integrating LIS, thru its purpose on the ways on how to tag learners with
disabilities. Thus, it also gives different ideas about the number of learners who needs help. It also
helps the teachers foster a fair and respectful environment. By having positive regard for students,
families and teachers become more considerate, sensitive, non-judgmental, supportive, adaptive and
flexible in handling learners with learning disabilities.
The equal opportunities Principle (EOP) shall be observed in the process at all times
where all individual is fully recognized.
III. OBJECTIVES:
1. To orient our teachers about the implementation of the Special Education Program.
2. To engage the teachers the different ways how to tag their learners in LIS.
