Quarter 3 – Module 4:
Solutions for Life!
What I Need to Know
Have you had problems in your life before? Were you able to solve
them? How did you feel when you were able to solve your
problems? How about when you did not?
Whether you can solve your problems or not, it's fine, as long as
you know your own weaknesses and strengths and you keep
moving and trying new ideas to solve your problems in life.
In the previous module, you have learned about Hyponyms or
words that refer to the members of a larger word category like
sampaguita and rose for flowers. This time you will learn how to
identify possible solutions to a problem.
You will accomplish in this module the different activities to
improve your thinking skills.
After going through this module, you are expected to:
• identify a problem from a given solution;
• give possible solutions to a problem (EN3LC-IIIb-2.19);
and
• show confidence in finding solutions to problems
Good luck and enjoy learning!

What is It
Sometimes things go wrong and need to be fixed. These things
that are not easy to deal with or difficult to understand are what
we called problems.
• A problem is something that needs to be solved or worked out.
It is a situation that causes difficulties for people
Example: All of the toys fell in the mud.
When there is a problem, there is always an end to it.
• A solution to a problem is a way of dealing with it so that
the difficulty is removed. It is an act or process of solving a
problem.
Example: I picked up the toys from the mud and washed them.
Understanding a problem will lead you into thinking of a better
solution or answer.
