SCHOOL LEVEL PRESS CONFERENCE 2023

Rationale The need for school level press conference is getting more
attention for school paper advisers and campus journalists to
equip them with new knowledge and skills for them to face
new challenges and reformation in education specifically in
the field of campus journalism.
The school level press conference can enhance the
professionalism of teachers who can contribute in the
organization to achieve its goals. In accordance with Republic
Act no.7079 also known as the “Campus Journalism
Development Act of 1991”, the three-day
seminar/competition will focus on the development of
journalistic skills of aspiring contestants for the EDDIS
Secondary Schools Press Conference and higher levels of the
competition for SY 2023-2024.
Agenda The objectives of this initiative are to:
a. select the best campus journalists who will represent
the school in the forthcoming EDDIS Level Secondary
Schools Press Conference.
b. give the theories, concepts and fundamentals of writing
for a student publication.
c. promote a culture of writing among learners who are
still recovering from the learning losses brought by the
pandemic.
d. strengthen camaraderie among junior and senior
writers to encourage sharing and transfer of learning.
