 Everyone is requested to stand for the prayer

 Good morning class, before taking your seats I want you to arrange your chairs properly and
please pick up the pieces of papers around you.
 How are you today class, how was your morning. Well then it’s good to hear that. By the
way class before checking your attendance I will remind you again our classroom rules and
regulations especially during our discussion. Well that be okay? Yes ma’am!
 Alright! 1st is Listen respectfully, what is the second one? Raise your hand before speaking,
very good! How about the third one? Respect everyone at all times.
 Very good! thank you class I hope that you will always remember that.
 So much for that, let’s check your attendance. But if nobody’s absent just as usual, just say

 This time before we start our lesson, who can still remember our discussion yesterday? yes
Bernadith? Our discussion yesterday ma’am was all about horticulture and its introduction.

 Okay class this time I want you first to answer this activity, the direction says, What do you
already know? To find out how much you already know, take this test. So all you have to do
is give some farm tools you know together with their uses or function. Just write your
answers in your notebook, you only have 4 minutes to answer start now.

as we go along with our discussion you’ll find out if your answers are correct. Is that

 Very good, so class who has here owns a farm or their parents work in the farm? just kindly
raise your hand. Okay! What did your father/farmer do to your farm to have a good harvest?
What do you think are the activities or farm tools they used?
 To answer those questions let me introduce to you our lesson for today about? Farm tools
and equipment. But today let’s focus with farm tools first.
 But for you to be guided with our goal in this lesson, here is our learning objectives. The
first one is Identify and classify tools according to its use. The second one kindly read
Eleizer, name the different basic farm tools use in farming. Thank you Eleizer and the last
one is? Yes! Ms. Boiser Value the importance of using appropriate tools in performing
horticultural operation. Thank you inday!
 Today let’s focus our discussion with farm tools first. Are you familiar with all that pictures
class? Not all ma’am. Don’t you worry coz we will discuss that one by one.
 But before that what do you think is farm tools class? Yes Ms. Michelle! an instrument
worked or used by hand this help make our work faster and easier. Very good, so it is an
instrument use in farming just only by the used of our bare hands.
 Let’s start with the different hand tools. But first what are hand tools? Okay so These are
usually light and are used without the help of animals or machines. The second one, Yes
Lora It can be manipulated by hands. Very good Lora, and the third one? Can be used for
small farms, small gardens at home, school and in community.
 That’s right very well said students, so these hand tools are commonly used in home in our
small farms, your farm garden, in school, or even in your community. As well class it is
manually operated by our own hands. Is that clear class? Yes ma’am.

DISCUSSION PROPER
1. Crowbar - It is used to make huge holes by digging, and being used to move rocks
2. Hand Trowel - Used for loosening the soil around the growing plants and putting small
amount of manure fertilizer in the soil
3. Rake - Used for cleaning the ground and leveling the topsoil
4. Shovel - Used in removing trash, digging loose soil, moving soil from one place to
another and for mixing soil media
5. Grab-Hoe - Used to break up hard soil, remove weeds and cultivate the soil
6. Pruning Shears - Used for cutting branches of planting materials and unnecessary
branches of plants
7. Wheelbarrow - Used for hauling trash, manures, fertilizers, planting materials and other
equipment
8. Bolo - Used for cutting tall grasses and weeds and chopping branches of trees
9. Hand Fork - Used for cultivating and weeding for backyard gardening
10. Water Pail - Used to bring water to the row of garden plots
11. Sprinkler - Used for watering seedlings and young plants
12. Sprayer - Used for spraying insecticides, foliar fertilizers, fungicides and herbicides

 Those were all the most common farm tools we use. So how’s your answer from our activity
earlier? Who got 12? 10? 8? how about 6? we’ll that’s okay class atleast you’ve identified
some of the tools even before the discussion. Any question class? No maam, really? yes
ma’am, wow excellente, together class say excellente! excellente!!! I hope that you have
learn and gain a lot of knowledge from our discussion today.
 Okay class! as a student why should you use appropriate farm tools for a specific task?
Anybody?? Yes Gian Carlo? We should use the farm tools appropriately to promote soil
health, controlling weeds, and improving efficiency, this makes the work much easier and
faster. Wow! exactly thank you Gian Carlo very well said. Lets give gian a YES YES YES

 Now that you have you already know the different tools in horticultural farming/operation,
