Compound words or compounds are words formed by putting two or more


words together to form a new word with a new meaning. To understand the meaning
of the compound, it is important to determine the meaning of each word that makes

➢ Compounding is joining two or more words together to make them one word
with a new meaning. This new meaning of the compound word may be the
same as the individual meaning of its component words or may be different.

between words), or hyphenated (connected by a hyphen).

word.

and frequency
 A verb must agree with its subject, in number and in person, i.e. a subject in
singular form must have a singular verb, and the subject in the plural form must
have a plural verb.
