DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, HOWRAH
ENGLISH PROJECT
CLASS – XII (2024-25)
TOPIC:
Through Their Lens: A Street Child's View.
OBJECTIVES:
Students will be able to:
Raise awareness about the daily struggles and realities faced by street children, highlighting their
resilience and humanity through powerful visual storytelling.
Promote empathy and understanding among viewers, encouraging them to see the world through
a different lens.
Shed light on the issues faced by street children, encouraging communities to address the root
causes of poverty and exploitation
DESCRIPTION:
"Through Their Lens: A Street Child Photography Project" is an initiative that empowers
students to capture the daily lives of street children through photography. By stepping into the
shoes of these marginalized individuals, students gain a deeper understanding of their
challenges and resilience. The project aims to raise awareness, promote empathy, and inspire
action by showcasing these images in a gallery exhibition or online platform, accompanied by
narratives that give voice to the often unheard stories of street children. Through this project,
students not only develop their photography skills but also become advocates for social change,
challenging perceptions and advocating for a more inclusive society. With every picture write a
couplet or a quatrain– This can be self-composed or taken from poems of other poets. After
completion of the scrap-book write your observation/thoughts (800 words) regarding the same.
Couplet :A couplet is a pair of successive lines of metre in poetry. A couplet usually consists of
two successive lines that rhyme and have the same metre.
Quartrain:A quatrain is a type of stanza, or a complete poem, consisting of four lines.
