INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has emerged as
a transformative force across the globe. As educational institutions strive to
enhance learning experiences, AI technologies offer innovative solutions to
meet the diverse needs of students. This introduction outlines the significance

As schools and educational institutions increasingly adopt AI technologies,

The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in our local educational
landscape is transforming how students interact with learning and their
environment. As schools in our community begin to implement AI
technologies, there’s a significant opportunity to enhance student
engagement, tailor learning experiences, and support diverse educational
needs. This introduction highlights the importance of AI in local education, its
advantages, and the challenges we face (Yasrebi, 2020).
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to permeate various sectors, its
integration into education, particularly at the secondary level, presents both
opportunities and challenges. While the potential for AI to enhance student
engagement and personalize learning experiences is widely recognized, there
remain significant research gaps that need to be addressed. Understanding
these gaps is crucial for educators, policymakers, and researchers aiming to
leverage AI effectively in educational settings.
Objectives of the Study
The general objectives of this study is to determine the advantage and
disadvantage of artificial intelligence sites on academic engagement of
secondary education students in Kabacan Sandigan Colleges Inc.
Specifically, the study aims to:
1. to determine the socio-demographic in terms of
a. name
b. sex
c. year or program
d. gender;
2. to determine the advantage and disadvantage of artificial intelligent
sites on academic engagement of respondents; and
3. to determine the relationship between academic engagement and
artificial intelligence of the respondents.
Significance of the Study
STUDENTS. This study will help the students to explore the artificial
intelligence (AI) in education, particularly concerning its impact on student
engagement in secondary education, holds several important implications for
students. Understanding these can enhance educational practices and
support student success.
ADMINISTRATORS. This study will help the administrators to handle
tasks such as document management, workflow optimization, and resource
allocation. By automating repetitive and mundane administrative tasks,
governments can free up valuable human resources to focus on higher-level
decision-making and policy implementation.
FUTURE RESEARCHERS. This study will help the future researchers
to guide future researchers in understanding how AI tools influence academic
engagement, shaping methodologies, and identifying best practices for
integrating technology in education.
Scope and Delimitation of the Study
This study will only focus on advantage and disadvantage of artificial
intelligence sites on academic engagement of secondary education students
in Kabacan Sandigan Colleges Inc.

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is a
framework that emphasizes the interplay between three essential components
in effective teaching: technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge.
Developed by Mishra and Koehler, TPACK helps educators understand how
to integrate technology into their teaching practices in a way that enhances
student learning. This refers to the teacher's understanding of the subject
matter they are teaching. A strong grasp of content is crucial for effectively
conveying knowledge and addressing student questions. This encompasses
the methods and strategies of teaching, including understanding how students
learn, designing instructional activities, and assessing student understanding.
Effective pedagogical practices engage students and facilitate meaningful
learning experiences. This involves the teacher’s ability to understand and use
technology tools effectively. It includes knowledge of software, hardware, and
digital resources that can enhance teaching and learning.
Operational Definition of Terms
ARTIFICIAL INTELLEGENT- Artificial intelligence (AI) refers
to computer systems capable of performing complex tasks that historically only
a human could do, such as reasoning, making decisions, or solving problems.
Academic Engagement - Academic engagement refers to the extent
and intensity with which students participate in and apply themselves to
learning and other school activities, as well as the supportive relationships and
structures that exist to support student engagement.
Technological - The definition of technology is the application of
scientific knowledge for practical purposes or applications. Technology uses
scientific principles, and applies them to change the environment in which
humans live. Technology can also use scientific principles to advance industry
or other human constructions.
Ethical Al Research - Ethical AI refers to the development and
deployment of artificial intelligence systems that emphasize fairness,
transparency, accountability, and respect for human values. AI ethics
emphasizes the impact of AI on individuals, groups and wider society.
