LABORATORY REPORT

OBSERVATION OF ANIMAL TISSUES

Student's name: Camila Intriago………………………….

Class: 9no……………………………………..
Date of the experiment: …………………
Teacher: Daniela molina………………………………….

1. Title of the experiment

Observation and analysis of animal tissues.

We were able to observe superficial tissues such as the skin, adipose tissue, fascia, muscles,
bones and tendons.

2. Objectives

 Identify the different types of animal tissues observed in the laboratory.

The types of tissues found in the chicken wing were muscle tissues, epithelial tissues,
nervous tissues and other tissues such as adipose tissue and fascia.

 Recognize the main characteristics of each animal tissue.

_Connective tissues_

- Bones: *Rigidity*

- Ligaments: *Elasticity*

- Tendons: *Resistance*

_Muscle tissues_
- Voluntary muscles:

- Involuntary muscles: *Automatism*

_Epithelial tissues_

- Skin: *Protection*

- Synovial membranes: *Lubrication*

_Nervous tissues_

- Nerves: *Conductivity*

_Other tissues_

- Adipose: *Insulation*

- Fascia: *Support*

 Understand the function of tissues within the animal body.

_Connective tissues_

- Bones: *Structural support*

- Ligaments: *Connection and stability*

- Tendons: *Muscle-bone connection*

_Muscle tissues_

- Voluntary muscles: *Movement and action*

- Involuntary muscles: *Control of automatic functions*

_Epithelial tissues_

- Skin: *Protection and regulation*

- Synovial membranes: *Friction reduction*

_Nervous tissues_

- Nerves: *Signal transmission*

_Other tissues_

- Adipose: *Insulation and energy reserve*

- Fascia: *Tissue support and separation*

3. Materials

 Lists the materials used in the laboratory practice.

 a fresh chicken wing
 dissection instruments
 gloves
 kitchen towel
 wet cloths
 soap

4. Procedure

Lists the procedure performed in the laboratory.

1 A longitudinal cut was made on the upper part of the chicken wing

2 The superficial tissues were separated

5. Questions
1. What differences did you observe among the various types of animal tissues?

Its purpose structure and function

2. What characteristics make epithelial tissue suitable for protecting the body?

For its physical barrier, joined cells, production of chemical barriers, regeneration,
immunological function, selectivity, resistance to friction

3. How does muscular tissue contribute to the body’s functions?

Muscle tissue is essential for maintaining body function and movement, and its diversity
of types allows for a wide range of specialized functions.

4. Why is nervous tissue essential for coordination and response in the organism?

Nervous tissue is essential for coordination and responses in the body as it allows the
transition of signals, controls automatic and voluntary functions and regulates sensation
and perception.

7. Reflection on the laboratory practice

I can observe in more detail the complexity of the chicken wing

Write a reflection about your laboratory practice.
