My Personal Statement (LUMS)
I am Hafiz Waqar Ahmad Bhatti, a dedicated student pursuing my Bachelor's in Electrical
Engineering at the University of Central Punjab (UCP), with a current CGPA of 3.84. I am
currently enrolled in the 8th (final) semester, & ready to begin the next step of my academic
journey
Throughout my undergraduate studies, my interest in the complex operations of electrical systems
has only grown stronger. My research-based Final Year Project, entitled "Analyze the Impacts of
Series Compensation on Transmission Lines and their Remedial Measures," shows my
commitment and enthusiasm for Electrical Power Engineering. This project delves into critical
aspects of power engineering, investigating the consequences of series compensation on
transmission lines while suggesting effective solutions. Despite its challenges, this project has been
profoundly fulfilling, fueling my determination to delve deeper into and contribute to the domain
of electrical power engineering. It's worth noting that my passion lies solely within Electrical
Power Engineering, and I am deeply committed to pursuing it further.
Driven by a profound interest in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to address the evolving
challenges in the power sector, I am eager to pursue a Master's degree in Power Engineering &
Smart Grids at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). LUMS stands as a beacon of
academic excellence, offering a conducive environment for nurturing innovative ideas and
fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. I am particularly drawn to the program's comprehensive
curriculum, which encompasses advanced topics such as smart grid technologies, renewable
energy integration, and power system optimization.
By pursuing this Master's degree, I aspire to deepen my understanding of emerging trends and
technologies in the field of power engineering, equipping myself with the knowledge and skills
necessary to tackle real-world challenges. I am committed to contributing meaningfully to the
