BSCA-3RD YEAR
REED 305 - Reflection
As a third-year student at Holy Cross of Davao College, the six-day Fiesta
Celebration was more than just an event; it was an enlightening experience that helped
me understand and value our community's more profound beliefs. It allowed me to
connect more deeply with my identity as a Holy Crossian and grow personally and
spiritually.
One of the most meaningful moments for me was the opening Mass. Being with
my fellow students, staff, and faculty, all united in faith, made me feel genuinely part of
something larger. This reminded me of how important our faith is to the Holy Crossian
way of life, influencing our academic experiences and personal values. The Mass was a
time for reflection, and it reminded me of the importance of service, humility, and
compassion—values we should hold onto every day.
On the third day of the celebration, we had a memorable experience that I'll
never forget. We joined a community activity where we cleaned the MH rooms on the
4th and 5th floors. I didn't think it would be so important, but it was a significant lesson
about helping others. Working with my friends to clean these areas made me see that
even small acts of service can make our school a better place. It taught me that being a
leader isn't just about doing big, noticeable things—it's also about taking care of the little
details that help everyone. This activity also made us feel more connected and
responsible for our shared spaces, showing me that every little action counts.
From this experience, I better understand what it means to be a Holy Crossian.
It's about doing well in school and being part of and helping the community. The cultural
shows and events during the week showed our students' talents and how we all come
together, making me feel proud to be part of such a lively school. It made me remember
that we should also learn to help others as we learn more.
What I learned from this celebration and being part of the community will help me
in the future. I now see how important it is to take action in helping others, to be active
in the community, and to always remember the Holy Crossian values of faith and
kindness in everything I do. Whether it's in my studies, future job, or personal life, these
experiences have shown me my duties as a student and a future leader.
Overall, the Fiesta Celebration was more than just a bunch of events—it was a
time for thinking about myself, making friends, and growing spiritually. It helped me
better understand what it means to be a Holy Crossian, and the things I learned will help
me as I move forward in life, both here and in the future.
