Assessment is a process of collecting
evidence and making judgment on whether
or not the competency has been achieved.
The purposes of assessment are:
1. To certify that an individual has
achieved competency;
2. To recruit and select candidates for a
job;
3. To monitor individual performance at
work;
4. To determine the training needs;
5. To conduct skills audit;
6. Recognize prior learning;
7. Classify a person against industry or
Enterprise standard; and
8. Provide feedback progress during
training.
I am going to administer competency
assessment for BREAD AND PASTR
PRODUCTION NC II and it is compose of

I will be observing while you are performing
your tasks then after that I will be asking you
questions related to your performance and
give feedback.
You will be given specific instructions to
guide you in your tasks. You may call me if
you have questions or clarifications.
Now, I want you to relax so that you can
think well because when you’re nervous you
cannot perform well.
The main purpose of assessment is to
determine how well you perform the unit of
competency as indicated in the training
regulations.
You don’t need to compete with one another
rather you have to test yourself whether you
meet the standard as prescribed in the
Training Regulations. Once found competent,
you will be issued with NC II certificate.
Hence, the impact of being and NC holder is
already a lifetime indelible mark place in you
and that you can use it in seeking
employment as your credential.
In the same manner as an Assessor, I must

observe transparency in recording, adhere to
quality system, observe confidentiality in the
records and must have integrity in doing
such.
I would like also to inform you that you have
to observe health and safety precautions
while performing the different tasks.
If you have some question or clarifications or
if there is a need for me to translate any
instructions into your own dialect, I would be
willing to entertain it.
If you need assistance, just raise your hand
and I will be willing to assist you.
Let me remind you not to disturb your co-
candidate and you are not allowed to go out
the assessment centre when you already
start performing the task.
Furthermore, after the assessment and
decisions has been made, if you do not agree
with my decision as your assessor, you have
the right to make an appeal, by writing a
letter of appeal right after of the assessment
to the ACAC Manager so that your appeal
could be address to the TESDA Provincial
Director at TESDA Sibugay Provincial Office.
If found competent, you will be awarded with
National Certificate of competency signed by
the TESDA Director General and it will be
valid for 5 years. Upon expiration, it will be
renewed upon your request and after
verification with the following requirements:

during the validity period of the
NC/COC in the relevant qualification
and duly signed by the employer
and/or school administrator
On the other hand, if ever you will be
declared NOT Yet Competent, you may apply
for reassessment anytime at your own
convenience. In case of assessment for a Full
National Qualification, re-assessment shall be
focused only on the specific area/s where you
have not satisfactorily achieved the required
level of competence and shall pay the full
assessment fee based on the list of fees
promulgated by the TESDA Board that is Php
1700.00
However, if you fail the assessment two
consecutive times, you are advised to go
through a refresher course before taking
another assessment.

Instruct candidate #1 to enter the

Provide the candidate with all the
materials, tools and equipment

activity you must:

STEP 4 The Evidence Plan shall focus on the

Step 7. Work out ways on which the
gaps from the assessment maybe filled.
As an assessor, there is a need for me to
give you the result for this assessment so
that I will know whether you meet the
competency standard or not. And it is
imperative that you will know the fields of
competencies that your good at and most
important thing is to identify your
weaknesses for us to allow you to focus on
those skills for your own improvement.
Step 8. Remind the candidate of the
next procedure. (i.e) recording
information, signing the CAA, Rating
sheet, etc.
