ETHICS

EVALUATION

LESSON 1: GOAL IN LIFE

B. Demonstrate the connection of goal in life and moral-ethical living.

- When you have a goal in life, moral-ethical living is one of the key factors in making sure you
achieve that goal. With your goal in mind, it’s important to make sure you do what’s right.
When your goals are guided by ethical values, you’re being selfless, and you care about how
other people feel and how your actions will affect them. This is important in order to achieve
one’s goals in the right way. Meaning that your purpose in life is honesty, fairness, and being
respectful to everybody. Living ethically will make your achievements and success meaningful.

LESSON 2: NATURE, DEFINITION AND PURPOSE OF ETHICS

B. How do you differentiate ethics from morality?

- The difference between ethics from morality is, ethics is about understanding principles that
guide us in what’s right or wrong. Morality is more cultural, reflecting what people or societies
believe is good or bad in daily life. For example, many cultures teach that lying is wrong based
on their moral values.

LESSON 3: MORAL STANDARDS

B. As Gen. Z, what can you suggest to your generation in resolving dilemma in life?

- As a Gen 2 myself, I belong in a generation where we grew up with technology, particularly the
internet and smartphones. I believe we can use this knowledge to find different solutions and
perspectives when facing a dilemma in life. But it’s also important to seek others for help,
especially for your mental health. For example, when in times of being overwhelmed in school,
it’s important to talk to someone you trust, and you can also use an app that can make you
productive at school.

LESSON 4: CULTURE AND ETHICS

B. How cultural relativism contributed to our personal development?

- Cultural relativism has contributed to our personal development by making us appreciate

different views and values. It helps us to be open minded and think critically, it helps us realize
that there are different beliefs in many cultures. For example, understanding that some
cultures care more about community than individual people helps us respect and cooperate
with others.
LESSON 5: ASIAN AND FILIPINO MORALITY

A. What makes ‘unity and diversity’ a better way to respect moral diversity?
- What makes it a better way to respect moral diversity is it encourages people to work
together, unity and diversity help accept moral differences. For example, a community
potluck is happening in the neighborhood, this allows people to share their traditional
dishes, making people appreciate more dishes of different cultures.

LESSON 6: MORAL AGENT AND THE ACT

A. In your own words, differentiate human act from the act of man.
- Human acts are actions we choose to do with awareness and intention and acts of man
are behaviors that involve instinct that happen automatically, like our body reflexes, it
happens without involving our thinking. If I decide to help a friend is a human act,
while flinching from a loud noise from the neighbor is an act of man.

LESSON 7: STAGES OF MORAL DEVELOPMENT

B. What is the role of the parents in the moral development of their children?
- The role of the parents is to shape their children’s morals by teaching and showing them
values and behaviors through their actions. They guide their child until the child
understands what’s right and wrong, and they help them to develop their own ideas.
When parents show kindness to others, children see that and learn to be kind to others
too.

LESSON 8: PROFESSIONAL CODE OF ETHICAL STANDARDS

A. What makes every profession a noble profession?

- Every profession is seen as noble because it helps our society and benefits the people.
There are different professions, like in the education field, healthcare, etc. Each one of
them has a job that plays an important role in improving the lives of the people in the
community. For example, engineers are the ones who help in building our roads and
different infrastructure, which makes an impact in our society.
