Formative Poster Presentation Task Brief
2024-25
Task type and description:
You will present an academic review poster at the poster presentation conference on
7th May 2025 (time tbc).
You need to submit a Word Document or PDF version of your poster to Turnitin by 2 pm
Tuesday 6th May 2025.
Review Poster: A review poster is a type of non-experimental academic poster that
summarises, synthesises, and analyses existing research on a particular topic rather
than presenting new experimental data. It is commonly used in STEM fields to provide
an overview of current knowledge, highlight research gaps, and suggest future
directions.
The goal of this formative task is to design an academic review poster that explores a
current or potential STEM innovation within your subject area. You will describe
the innovation, analyse its significance, and evaluate its potential impact on one
or two UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This task is considered a practice presentation for your summative oral presentation.
You will receive feedback from your tutor and your peers.
Please note that this task is compulsory, and you will be able to attend your
assessed oral presentation only if you have presented your poster at this
conference; if you miss the conference, you will be required to provide medical
certificate to be able to attend your assessed oral presentation.
