Compare And Contrast Synoptic Gospels
Mark is the best storyteller of the synoptic gospels. The synoptic gospels, Mark, Matthew, and
Luke in the new testament of the Bible are similar stories, sequence, and wording. The book of
Matthew and Luke displays a viewpoint of the stories as told in the book of Mark. The three
synoptic gospels stand in contrast to the book of John whose content is distinct. The role of miracles
plays a critical role in the New Testament of the Bible in religious traditions in Christianity. The
synoptic gospelsreflects unique differences regarding miracles of healing as told in Mark in contrast
to Matthew and Luke. I plan to demonstrate the differences in two synoptic gospels by comparing
and contrasting them to two miracles of healing in the book of Mark.
The two miracles I will explore will include healing a woman of hemorrhages and a man with
leprosy. The first miracle I will explore will be healing in the gospel of Mark. In Mark, Chapter 5,
verses 25 34, he quotes, Now there was a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for
twelve years. She had endured much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had; and
she was no better, but rather grew worse. She had heard about Jesus, and came up behind him in
the crowd and touched his cloak, for she said, If I but touch his clothes, I will be made well
Immediately her hemorrhages stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.
Immediately aware that power had gone forth from him, Jesus turned about in
Heathcliff Revenge Quotes
Heathcliff is seeking vigilante justice. In the book, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, the main,
Heathcliff, takes his revenge on the people that have wronged him: Catherine, Edgar, and Hindley.
Catherine betrayed Heathcliff, when she confessed that she couldn t be with him, because of his
status. Edgar, Catherine s husband, is know to Heathcliff as the man who took Catherine away from
him, and drove her to her death. Hindley degraded Heathcliff to the point that Catherine believed she
couldn t love him. Heathcliff s reaction to Catherine s denial sends him on a quest of vigilante
justice changing the lives of all other characters. Nelly s neglect to inform Catherine that Heathcliff
was listening to their conversation forever changed the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hindley was always jealous of Heathcliff. Hindley s father Mr. Earnshaw treated Heathcliff as one
of the family, and Catherine s attraction to Heathcliff added to Hindley s jealousy. After Mr.
Earnshaw died, Hindley became the sole recipient of Wuthering Heights. This is when Hindley
released his wrath upon Heathcliff, branding him, an imp of Satan forcing Heathcliff to work
with the servants. Hindley blamed his father, for treating Heathcliff too liberally; and swears he
will reduce him to his right place (Bonte 30). Heathcliff has been belittled to nothing more than a
poor servant. Consequently, the shallow Catherine is unable to marry Heathcliff because of his
status. Resulting in Heathcliff searching for vigilante justice. Once, Heathcliff arrived to
Wuthering Heights, he is a rich and powerful man. Hindley is a miserable drunk floundering in
debt. Heathcliff takes advantage loaning Hindley money to fuel his addiction, to the point
Hindley gives Heathcliff Wuthering Heights as collateral. Heathcliff is able to simultaneously
torture Hindley by passively torturing him through his addiction, and belittling him to the point
where he is a drunk debtor. Hindley realizes Heathcliff owns everything and says, I will have it
back; and I ll have his gold too; and then his blood; and hell shall have his soul! It will be ten times
blacker with that guest than ever it was before! (Bonte 13.63). Heathcliff pushes Hindley s
addiction to the point where it ultimately kills him; however, this wasn t enough satisfaction for
Heathcliff and turns to Hindley s son. Hareton Earnshaw, biological son of Hindley, adopted son
of Heathcliff. Heathcliff unleashed his vigilante justice against Hareton. Heathcliff raises Hareton
as an uneducated field worker; the same way Hindley raised Heathcliff. Heathcliff says to the boy
Now, my bonny lad, you are mine! And we ll see if one tree won t grow as crooked
Relationship Between God and Creation
Khoa Pham
Theology 101
Dr. Nairn Relationship between God and Creation Genesis 1:26, God said Let us make
humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of
the sea, and over the bird of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animal of the earth,
and over every creeps upon the earth. I think this is the image of human dignity. We can simplify
this by saying that we are smarter than other creatures in this earth. In my opinion from a person
who doesn t have any religion, I don t believe in this. Because I always believe that human has been
developing in a long way of evolution, and now I just learnt a new conception which is god created
human. It is really interesting but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you say which side you are, I will answer that I am in the middle; because there are still many
things that science hasn t able to explain yet. For example, the scientists don t believe in the

The Queen Of The King
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a king and a queen anxiously awaited the birth of their child.
The king and queen had longed for a child, and so they had a daughter. However, when the child
was born, the queen died. Soon after the queen s passing, the king took a new wife. However, the
new queen was selfish, for she did not want to care for a child that was not her own. And so, she
sent the young princess to live a town by the harbor at the edge of the kingdom with the hope that
the princess would be forgotten and never return to the castle. The queen arranged for the baby to
be brought to the edge of the kingdom, where she was left on the doorstep of an elderly blacksmith
and his wife. The blacksmith and his wife brought the child into their home and raised her as their
own. Despite their old age, they had missed having a child in their home, as their son had boarded
one of the ships passing through the harbor long ago, never to be seen or heard from again. Years
passed, and the baby grew to become a beautiful girl. However, as the girl aged, the elderly
blacksmith and his wife had aged as well. And by the girl s twelfth year, both the blacksmith and
his wife had passed. Now it just so happened that the town, which received many new visitors each
day due to its location by the harbor, had recently welcomed a new arrival; a physician, set to take
the place of the previous town doctor who had decided to leave on one of the ships passing though
the harbor. However,
Compare And Contrast Egyptian Revolution And American...
Many times when people revolt against the government, it leaves the country in a worse spot that it
was before. Throughout history there have been many revolutions in many different places. Two of
the most significant have been the American Revolution, from the 1700 s, and more recently the
Egyptian revolutionfrom 2011. Both of these revolutions have many similarities within each other,
but they also have many actions to contrast. The topics being compared include; how the revolutions
started. The demands of the revolting groups. Lastly, what the two groups did to protest against the
government.

Differences
To start off with the comparing and contrasting; their are multiple similarities.
First off how the revolutions were started. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
WIth the British unnecessarily taxing the Colonist of goods like sugar, stamps and tea. Where the
Egyptians were mad at the government for not doing anything about the poverty and unemployment
as well as believing that the government was corrupt. Next, the demands of both groups leading the
revolutions both wanted a change in the government. In both situations the majority of the people
were very mad at the government and wanted a change. Also, eventually both groups did get what
they demanded in the change of government.
Lastly, both of the revolutions included many protests. An example from each would be the Egyptian
citizens boycotting the the election and not voting, and the colonist tossing a ton of tea overboard
into the ocean so it could not be bought and the government would not get the money from the taxes,
which is called the Boston Tea Party. That is some of the similarities between the two

The Caste System In Ancient India
The world has seen many civilizations. One of the most prominent civilizations in southern Asia
was ancient India. Ancient India was well known for their caste system. The caste system is
believed to have been created around 1500 BCE. It separated the people of ancient India into four
groups that determined their significance. The brahmins made up the highest caste with priests
and religious leaders. The second group was the kshatriyas and they were the kings and warriors.
Third were the vaishyas. They were made of traders, farmers, and other working class people.
Last was the shudras and they were laborers. A fifth group existed separately from the caste
system. These were the dalits which meant the untouchables and they were thought of as inferior
by the other castes. Under this system some were powerful while others were weak and
powerless. India s social structure was built upon the caste system, which is still used today. The
caste system affected religion, government, and people in different ways. India s caste system
allowed their religion and their government to take root, and shaped their social class. Hinduism
was greatly influenced by the caste system. Hindu beliefs state that someone s actions in one life
will determine their placement in the caste system during their next life. The caste system, in a way,
made Hinduism very important. Especially for those in lower castes. It allowed them a way out of
their harsh lives and that is why it appealed to them the
Sedation Dentistry
Sedation dentistry is a great asset to you if you fear dental appointments in general or only
specific procedures. Sedatives used in dentistry are very safe and effective, and they can help you
get your oral health back on track if you have skipped dental appointments due to overwhelming
anxiety. If you have requested gentle oral sedation to help calm your nerves during your dental
procedure, but remain fully awake, then be sure to follow these two steps to help your dentist
provide the right medication and dose to keep you calm, yet awake, during your dental
appointment. 1. Inform Your Dentist of Every Medication and Supplement You Take Even
Occasionally When visiting a new dentist, it is standard procedure for you to fill out a form that
has you list every single medication and supplement you are currently taking. While this information
is important for your dentist to have for many reasons, it is especially important for your dental care
provider to know if you are taking medications or supplements that may affect the dosage of sedation
medication you are given before your procedure. When filling out these forms, you may be unsure
whether to report medicines or supplements you take only occasionally,... Show more content on

Since the type of medication typically given as a calming agent is a benzodiazapine, make sure
to alert your dentist if you have taken a medication of that class in the past and had a reaction
called a paradoxical reaction. While somewhat rare, you would know if you experienced it in the
past when taking a benzodiazapine if the medication actually made you more alert instead of
relaxing you. If suspected that you may have this type of reaction again, your dentist may opt to
prescribe a different type of sedative less likely to cause this reaction
The Achievement Struggle of U.S. Schools
Over the past decade American schools have been struggling to achieve the success rate of other
countries. In the past 15 years the United States has stayed stagnant while other countries pass the
U.S. in math, reading, and science. (SOURCE) Stagnant test scores and poor performance globally
have educators, politicians and businessperson concerned about the future of education.
Diane Ravitch is a highly educated author and a graduate of Wellesley College and received her
Ph.D in history from Columbia University. After receiving her various degrees she became the
assistant secretary of education and counselor of education from 1991 to 1993. (CITE) She now
resides as a research professor of education at New York University. She has also written several
books about school reform, national standards, adolescent education, controversial topics of school
reform, and student rights. Overall, Diane Ravitch does a remarkable job stating the obvious issues
that led to this modern day fiasco in education. I support and agree with Diane Ravitch. She
strongly believes that education should not be rushed and mass produced. In the book she states
five major points about education: 1) Standardized Testing 2) No Child Left Behind and other
education reforms 3) Business Model Approach 4) Privatization of schools 5) Accountability and
change. In Diane Ravitch s book about The Death and Life of the Great American School System
shows the history and approach to school reform.

Civic Consulting Project Observation Report
As a political Science major I generally have a strong interest in government. As a lifelong
resident of public housing, I have a specific interest in the New York City Housing Authority. So,
when Civic Consulting USA, an organization dedicated to helping government leaders tackle
some of the toughest issues cities face , offered me a fellowship in a project intended to improve
NYCHA; it was quite easy to accept the opportunity. This essay is will discuss some of my
thoughts I must admit that going into this project, I was initially quite dubious of NYCHA s ability
or even desire to improveliving conditions. My skepticism stems from being a lifelong resident of
Throggs Neck Housing, a development were problems are met with a plethora of excuses rather
than any type of remedy. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I met members of the executive
staff. Everyone was incredibly adept and committed to their jobs they fully understood the gravity of
their responsibilities. Most importantly of all, I sensed a true compassion and earnest desire to
improve the standard... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I saw this most prominently during the board meetings held by Civic Consulting. It was interesting
to watch a number of highly accomplished experts from diverse professional backgrounds pondered
the issues facing NYCHA and offerer advice and potential solutions that may be outside of the
conventional wisdom of a government agency. I enjoyed learning about the ways in which
government can incorporate tools developed by private forces to trigger organizational changes
which ultimately help the government agency and its beneficiaries. What I appreciate most about
this type of public private relationship, particularly fostered by Civic Consulting is that it is more
concerned with genuine government improvement, rather than the profit
