Chapter 9 Disassembly
Caution:
Before disassembly, make sure to turn off the instrument, and then perform the
work.
9.1 Removing the covers (same on all units)
(1) Remove power connector and LAN cable.
(2) Turn the lock for opening/closing cover
counterclockwise and open opening/closing
cover.
(3) Loosen top cover fixing screws (2 pcs) (on right
side).

(4) Remove the top cover.
(5) Loosen left side cover fixing screws (2 pcs).
(6) Remove the left side cover.

9.2 Removing the front cover
(1) Remove front cover fixing screws (5 pcs: 3 on left side and 2 on right side).
(2) Disconnect the connectors (RACKSWk,
STSW1, LED1_2).
(3) Remove the front cover.

9.3 Removing the protection cover
(1) Loosen protection cover fixing screws (4 pcs:
shown by red circles) and remove the screws (3
pcs: shown by blue circles).
(2) Remove the protection cover.

9.4 Removing the rear cover
(1) Remove rear cover fixing screws (5 pcs: 2 on left side, 2 on right side and 1 on rear side).
(2) Remove the rear cover.

9.5 Removing the reaction unit assembly
(1) Remove the black tube (connected to SV35)
that is connected to the transparent tube that is
T branch of WBC chamber and heater.
(2) Remove the tube connected to T branch of
SV33 and SV34. (Fluid will leak from tube, so
use Kimwipes or other means to catch fluid)
(Mark where the removed tube connects to)
(3) Loosen reaction unit chassis fixing screws (4 pcs: 2 on top and 2 on bottom).

(4) Lift up reaction unit assembly and pull forward.
(5) Remove the connector (33) from SV33.
(6) Remove the tube connected to top of SV33.
(Mark where the removed tube connects to)

(7) Cut tie wrap with nippers.
(8) Disconnect the connector (FFD).
Disconnect the connector (REACTION).
(9) Remove the tube on the bottom of the WBC
chamber from the connector connected to
SV10.

(10) Remove EPK tube from bottom of reaction unit
assembly.
(11) Remove the reaction unit assembly.

9.6 Removing the RBC detector
(1) Loosen RBC detector cover fixing screw (1 pc).
(2) Remove RBC detector cover.
(3) Remove RBC detector assembly fixing screws
(2 pcs).

(4) Loosen RBC valve assembly fixing screws (2
pcs).
(5) Pull RBC valve assembly forward.
(6) Remove the tube connected to T branch of
SV37 and SV38.

(7) Remove connector cover fixing screws (2 pcs).
(8) Remove connector cover from PCB NO.3061.
(9) Remove WIRING CORD NO.3646 connector
from PCB (PCB NO.3061).

(10) Remove ground wire fixing screw (1 pc).
(11) Remove ground wire from PCB NO.3061.
(12) Disconnect the hydraulic connector (2). (Fluid
will leak from tube, so use Kimwipes or other
means to catch fluid)

(13) Prepare a tube inserter of approximately 300
mm and attach to removed tube. (This makes it
easier to insert tube during installation)
(14) Remove the tube connected to front of SV16.
(15) Remove the tube connected to back side (3) of
RBC detector assembly.

(16) Remove the RBC detector assembly.

9.7 Removing the sample holder
* Remove the reaction unit assembly. (For details, refer to "Removing the reaction unit assembly")
* Remove the RBC detector assembly. (For details, refer to "Removing the RBC detector assembly")
(1) Remove waterproof sheet.
(2) Loosen sample holder protection cover fixing
screws (2 pcs).
(3) Remove the sample holder protection cover.

(4) Remove the sensor connector (M5-L) from
sample holder.
(5) Remove the connector (SHUT) from sample
holder.
(6) Move sample holder chassis B to the left and
loosen sample holder chassis A (bottom) screws
(4 pcs).

(7) Loosen sample holder chassis A (side) fixing
screw (1 pc).
(8) Remove sample holder cover screws (2 pcs).
(9) Remove the sample holder cover.

(10) Rotate adapter (No.117) and remove from
stand.
(11) Remove stand fixing screws (2 pcs).
(12) Remove stand and support.

(13) Move aspiration unit to right side.
(14) Remove protection cover fixing screws (2 pcs) and screw on far inner side (1 pc).
(15) Remove the protection cover.

(16) Pull sample holder forward.
(17) Remove the motor connector (STM-5) from
motor.
(18) Remove the sample holder.

9.8 Removing the RBC valve unit
* Remove the RBC detector assembly. (For details, refer to "Removing the RBC detector assembly")
(1) Remove the tubes (5 pcs) connected to RBC/
HGB chamber. The detailed steps are shown
below. (Mark where the removed tube connects
to)
(2) Remove the tube (first) connected to RBC/HGB
chamber. (Mark where the removed tube
connects to)
(3) Remove the tube (second) connected to RBC/
HGB chamber. (Mark where the removed tube
connects to)

(4) Remove the tube (third) connected to RBC/HGB
chamber. (Mark where the removed tube
connects to)
(5) Remove the tube (fourth) connected to RBC/
HGB chamber. (Mark where the removed tube

chamber. (Mark where the removed tube
connects to)

9.9 Removing the CP assy
(1) Remove CP chassis A fixing screws (4 pcs).
(2) Remove CP chassis A.
(3) Remove CP chassis B fixing screws (5 pcs).

(4) Open the clamp that holds cables.
(5) Remove the motor connector (STM-4) from
motor.
(6) Remove the connector (M4-L) from CP assy.

9.10 Removing the aspiration unit
* Remove the reaction unit assembly. (For details, refer to "Removing the reaction unit assembly")
* Remove the RBC detector assembly. (For details, refer to "Removing the RBC detector assembly")
(1) Loosen chamber mounting plate fixing screws (2
pcs).
(2) Remove the trap chamber.
(3) Loosen aspiration unit chassis B fixing screws (4 pcs).

(4) Push aspiration unit down to back side to
separate pulley from rail, and pull forward.
Caution:
Take care not to hurt yourself on the piercer
tip.
(5) Remove the connector (M3-H) from aspiration
unit.
(6) Remove the motor connector (STM-3) from
motor.

(7) Remove the tube connected to left side of rinse
cup. (Mark where the removed tube connects
to)
(8) Remove the tube connected to right side of rinse
cup. (Mark where the removed tube connects
to)
(9) Remove the tube connected to top of pipette.
(Mark where the removed tube connects to)

(10) Remove the aspiration unit.

9.11 Removing VALVE NO.182
(1) Loosen valve mounting plate fixing screws (2 pcs).
(2) Disconnect the hydraulic connector (1). (Fluid
will leak from tube, so use Kimwipes or other
means to catch fluid)
(3) Disconnect the hydraulic connector (2). (Fluid
will leak from tube, so use Kimwipes or other
means to catch fluid)

(4) Remove the tube connected to side of cylinder.
(Fluid will leak from tube, so use Kimwipes or
other means to catch fluid) (Mark where the
removed tube connects to)
(5) Remove the tube connected to T branch of
diaphragm pump (air side). (Mark where the
removed tube connects to)
(6) Remove the tube connected to top of SV21.

(8) Remove the tube connected to top of SV17.
(9) Remove the tube connected to SV12. (Fluid will

(1) Remove mounting plate fixing screw (1 pc).
(2) Remove the connector (1) from HGB unit (for HGB analysis).
(3) Remove the connector (2) from HGB unit (for
blood monitoring).

(5) Remove the tube connected to right side of HGB

9.13 Removing the syringe unit
(1) Remove the tube connected to top of cylinder.

(3) Loosen syringe unit chassis fixing screws (2
pcs).

(4) Lift up syringe unit (lower) and pull forward.

(2) Remove the tube connected to SV12. (Fluid will
leak from tube, so use Kimwipes or other means
to catch fluid)
(3) Remove the tube connected to SV34.

(4) Prepare a tube inserter of approximately 300
mm and attach to removed tube. (This makes it

(5) Remove the tube connected to waste chamber.
(6) Remove the thermistor cord from FCM
connector.

(8) Remove WIRING CORD NO.3661 connector
from PCB (PCB NO.3061).
(9) Open the clamp that holds cables.
