A NARRATIVE REPORT
“UPGRADING THE TEACHER’S SKILLS IN CONSTRUCTING ASSESSMENT TESTS
AND COMPUTATION OF GRADES OF THE LEARNERS UNDER THE NEW NORMAL”
December 16, 2020 – December 18, 2021
The need for in-service training in schools is getting more attention for teachers to
equip with new knowledge and skills for us to face new challenges and reformation in education.
This training / workshop can enhance the professionalism of teachers who can contribute to the
institution to achieve its goals.
As educators gear with the “new normal” set-up in this Covid-19 pandemic, this is
the appropriate time to use our discomfort to forge a new paradigm. Educators need to design
assessment and grading system and think on their purposes and priorities. Encouraging student
learning is the best and not just let the pupils accountable for their own learning. Teachers must
think that in times of remote learning continuous feedbacking from pupils on their learning can
help them reflect on their strengths. The aim of this training is to promote professional and
personal growth despite of the pandemic that we are suffering.
The school head Mrs. Arlene Solis-Ganaden, together with the proponent Mr. Menandro
Y. Dela Cruz and the teaching staff of Jose N. Juguilon Elementary School, organized an In-
Service Training (INSET) entitled, “Upgrading the Teacher’s Skills in Constructing Assessment
