As per the programme scheme in the Term 3, student has to complete a course titled Community
Development Project (L: 0 T: 0 P: 4). The basic course objectives associated with this course are:

1. To identify the issues related to community development and to find solutions for
improvement.

2. To build creative thinking process and evolving behavioral changes in order to develop
effective problem-solving campaign.

3. Developing skills to promote unique idea among public aiming to originate substantial and
sustainable development bringing in difference in the community at large.

4. Ability to deliver effective presentation and written report covering major issues and
suggestions related to the Project.

Community Development Project:

Student can complete the Community Development Project with some Non-Government
Organization (NGO) or local organization(s) working on some Community Development areas and
allowing physical reporting in the organization.

NOTE: The NGO with which the student will carry out their Project shall be required to authenticate
the number of hours spent by the student on the Project as well as their contribution to the cause as
per Annexure 2.

A suggestive list of Community Development Projects (if done in collaboration with NGO/Local
Organization) is given as below:

1. Environmental studies
2. Yoga
3. Renewable sources of energy
4. Sustainable agriculture practices
5. Pollution management
6. Re-cycling/ reuse of waste
7. Social awareness
8. Management of diseases
 No. of hours to be devoted to Project

As per the course description, the course is a 4-credit course and the student project
undertaken must involve a total of 12 weeks and 60 hours of engagement, out of which
minimum of 45 hours are to spent on the actual carrying out of the project and 15 hours
for report writing and preparing presentation. Students need to complete the project
within the applicable semester.

 How to register for the project.

The students are required to start exploring the area for their project just after their
enrolment / registration in the applicable semester and decide upon the nature and the
name of the project. The students are required to submit the following details with regard
to the project by the due date to be stipulated by the university through online interface to
be provided to them in their LMS log-in:
1. Title of the Project.
2. Brief Description of the Project.
3. NGO/ Local Organization selected to carry out the Project.

 Written report submission of the project and its contents.

On completion of the Project, the student is required to prepare a written report (format of
the same attached as Annexure 1 & 3) describing the following aspects:
1. Introduction
2. Problem Indentification and Cause of the Problem
3. Objectives of the Project.
4. Various steps taken to achieve the Objectives.
5. Effectiveness of the Project.

6. Conclusion

In addition to above, a Power Point Presentation shall also be submitted regarding the
progress of the project supported by video clips, photographs (before and after) and
testimonials by people touched. Student need to put Geotag Photographs in the report.
The written report along with the Power Point Presentation has to be produced by the
student at the time of End Term Practical (ETP) Examination.
 Submission of the Community Development Project.

Students will submit the Community Development Project at the University through LMS
Portal. Students need to submit the Community Development Project by the due date
given.

 Evaluation of the project.

The course is evaluative in nature and evaluation shall be done on the basis written report
submitted by the student and the Power Point Presentation presented by the student. The
evaluation shall be done by a panel of evaluators selected by the University and grades shall be
awarded on the basis of evaluation parameters as given in the table below:

Applicability of E Grade: Yes


NOTE: The project work submitted by students should be the original in nature. Copying from
any online/offline sources is strictly prohibited. Plagiarism will be checked for each report and the
permitted level of plagiarism is less than 20%.
In case, it is found that the plagiarism exceeds the permitted limit, and the student has presented a
copied work without proper reference/citation, then the same will be considered as an act of
academic misconduct. All such cases shall then be initiated for action as per the university policy
on academic misconduct.

 Inability to obtain Pass grade in the Course.

The students not able to obtain Pass grade in the course shall be awarded E Grade in the
course and these students shall be liable to complete this course by registering the course
as a Reappear course in any of their upcoming terms and re-performing the Project all
over again.
