4. The average of 9 nos. is 50, the average of first 5 nos. is 54 and average of last 3 nos.
is 52. Then sixth number is?
5. The average weight of a class of 24 students is 35 kg. If the weight of the teacher be
included, the average rises by 400 g. the weight of the teacher is?
6. A person goes to school at speed of 10 km/h and returns at 30 km/h. Find av. Speed.
7. A person travels first 10 kms at 5 km/h, another 30 kms at 7 km/h and finally 20 kms
at 15 km/h. Find average Speed.
Some Examples:
8. The average age of a class of 14 girls and their teacher is 15 years. If the age of
the teacher is excluded, the average reduces by 1 year. The age of the teacher is?
9. The average age of class of 30 students and a teacher decreases by 0.5 years if we
