COURSE STRUCTURE
Name of Course: Concepts of Calculus
Course Code: MAT121
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite/co-requisite:
Credit in Mathematics at SPM/UEC level, or minimum Grade C in MAT103 College Algebra
Summary: This course covers basic concepts of plane analytic geometry, limits, continuity,
derivative, maxima and minima, antiderivatives and applications of definite integrals.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon completing this course, the students will be able to:
CLO1: Apply mathematical laws or formulas required for basic concepts of functions, limits
and continuity. (C3, PLO1)
CLO2: Solve a variety of problems on derivatives, definite and indefinite integrals of algebraic,
logarithmic, and exponential function (C3, PLO7)
CLO3: Demonstrate ability in problem solving and critical thinking using differentiation and
integration. (C3, PLO2)

Teaching and Delivery Methods/ Teaching Methodology:
Lectures and Tutorials, delivered in a combination of blended and independent learning
E-Learning provided by INTI makes learning more accessible and convenient for the students. The
blended model utilized by INTI is the integration of E-learning via INTI’s Learning Management
System and the conventional lecturer-led classroom activities. INTI students are required to access
to the online learning materials (additional notes, reading materials, online assessments,
discussion forums and etc.), so as to acquire a complete learning process. This also promotes self-
directed learning in encouraging INTI students to be independent learners
