avoid fishing vessel. At 0910 hrs original course was resumed. At 0930 hrs Kings wear

speed to 10 kts and maintained same throughout thereafter. At 1030 hrs vessel A/Co to
0500(T) .At 1100 hrs Bill of Portland (50031’ N,0020 27’ W) bore North. If current was
expected to set 0900(T) at 2 kts, find vessel’ position at 1100 hrs and course steered

Q 16. From a position 5 n.m South of Bill of Portland Lt Ho( 50 0 31’ N, 0020 27’
W) at 2000 hrs , a vessel steered a certain course , Engine speed 10 kts,
Current setting 0450(T) at 3 kts, Wind Southerly, Leeway 50. At 2100 hrs
she altered course to 1050(T) to pass 10 n. m South of The Needles Lt
House (500 39.7’ N, 0010 35.3’ W) . Find the course steered from 2000 hrs
to 2100 hrs. and time when vessel will reach South of Needles Lt Ho 10
n.m off.Wind direction, current, E.Spd remained same throughout.
