DEFINITION
descriptive text is a text that describes about someone or
something in detail.

objek secara terperinci (mendetail).
PURPOSE
The purpose of writing a descriptive text is to describe and
reveal a particular person, place or thing.
Tujuan dari teks deskriptif adalah untuk menggambarkan
dan menunjukkan seseorang, suatu tempat, atau suatu hal.
GENERIC STRUCTURE
Identification
Pengenalan objek yang ingin dideskripsikan. Misalnya, nama objek itu apa, dari mana objek itu berasal, atau siapa
pemilik objek tersebut. Contoh:
My father just bought a new car for me. That car has been long on my wishlist.
Description
Penjelasan yang lebih spesifik dari suatu objek. Kamu bisa menjabarkan sifat-sifat, atau ciri-ciri fisik dan nonfisik
yang ada pada objek tersebut. Contoh:
My new car is one of the latest sport cars from Italy. The car is a two passenger-seat model or sedan car, the one seat is
for the driver and the other is for a single passenger.

MY SCHOOL
Identification:
My Senior High school is one of the best schools in my town. The building is quite far from my house. I usually ride my motorcycle to go there. It takes around 15-20 minutes to arrive in that place.
Description:
My school is very large with an area around 4 hectares and surrounded by high fences. Overall, it has 18 classrooms, 2 teacher rooms, headmaster room, 8 toilets, an auditorium, a library, a science laboratory,
a computer laboratory, football field, basketball court, mosque, UKS, canteen, and large parking area for teachers, students, and also guests. Those buildings are arranged to form a rectangle and surrounded
field in the middle commonly used as sports place and ceremony.
When we go over the gate, there is a security post. The security post is guarded by two security guards. They are in charge of maintaining security in my school. Beside the security post, there is a large fish
pond which beautifies my school. Then, we will pass the parking area. After going through the parking area, we’ll see the main building of my school. The building is quite large. It serves as teacher, headmaster,
and employees’ room in my school.
Furthermore, we will go into a building of classrooms. On the right side, there are classrooms for 1st, 2nd, 4 toilets, science laboratory, UKS, and library. On the left side, there are classroom for 3rd, another
toilets, an auditorium, a computer laboratory, and a mosque. The canteen is located behind the auditorium.
In front of every classroom there are small flower gardens that are regularly used by students as a place to play and learn. Besides that, there are so many large trees which make the air around my school
become very fresh and clean. One place that I love the most at my school is the fish pond. At the break time, I always sit there to find inspiration by seeing the fish swimming in the pond.
