3 Computer Literacy 2025 – 2026

F.3 CL Excel 2 20 marks + Bonus: 2 marks

Open the file Excel2 HW.xlxs for the assignment.

1. Type your name and exam mark (0 – 85) in the cells B2 and E2. (1 mark)
2. In I18, use a formula to find out the number of students in 1A, such that it can be copied to cell
J18 to L18.
Copy it to cell J18 to L18 to find out the number of students in other classes. (3 marks)
3. In cells I19, use a formula to find out the total exam mark for each class such that it can be copied
to cell J19 to L19.
Copy it to cell J19 to L19 to find out the total exam mark in other classes. (3 marks)

4. In F2 to F15, use formula to find out the total mark of each student. (2 marks)
Total = Test 1 + Test 2*1.5 + Exam

5. The passing mark of the Total is 55. In G2 to G15, use formula to determine if the students pass
or fail in the Total. (2 marks)

Refer to Q6 and Q7.


The passing marks of Test1, Test 2 and Exam are shown in the following table

6. In H2 to H 15, use formula to check if the students pass both Test 1 & Test 2. (2 marks)

7. In I2 to I 15, use formula to check if the students pass Test 1 or Test 2. (2 marks)

8. In cell J2 to J15, use formula to find out the grade as follows for each student.

Grade Total (X)
A X >= 90
B 90 > X >= 75
C 75 > X >= 55
D X < 55
9. In K2 to K15, use formula to find out those students whose grade are not “A”. (3 marks)

Bonus: Challenging Problem


10. In M1 to M15, use formula to find the ranking of the student’s total marks. (2 marks)
