Recitation must be from assigned portions of the Holy Qur’an
(participants have to choose one of the three assigned portions provided in this booklet)
Participants can be stopped anytime during the recitation (By the
Judges)

RUBRIC AND MARKING


Pronunciation (11 points)
The Arabic letters of the Holy Qur’an should be pronounced in their proper
manner. (This refers to the location in the mouth used to articulate a
letter.

Tajweed Rules (11 points)


The recitation must adhere to the proper rules of tajweed.

Melody (8 points)
This refers to the overall tune and melody of the recitation and
articulation of the voice at appropriate moments. The tune should also
reflect the message of the recitation if possible.

‫َو َلَق ۡد ٰاَتۡی َنا ُلۡق ٰمَن اۡل ِح ۡک َم َة َاِن اۡش ُک ۡر ِلّٰلِه َو َمۡن َّیۡش ُک ۡر َفِاَّنَم ا َی ۡش ُک ُر ِلَنۡف ِس ٖه َو َمۡن‬
‫َک َف َر َفِاَّن الّٰلَه َغ ِنٌّی َح ِم ۡی ٌد ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۳‬و ِاۡذ َقاَل ُلۡق ٰمُن ِلاۡب ِنٖه َو ُه َو َی ِع ُظ ٗه ٰیُبَنَّی َلا ُتۡش ِر ۡک‬
‫ِبالّٰلِه ِاَّن الِّش ۡر َک َلُظۡل ٌم َع ِظ ۡی ٌم ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۴‬و َو َّص ۡی َنا اۡلِا ۡن َس اَن ِبَو اِلَد ۡی ِه َح َم َل ۡت ٗه ُاُّمٗه َو ْه ًنا‬
‫َع ٰلی َو ْه ٍن َّو ِفٰصُلٗه ِفۡی َعاَمۡی ِن َاِن اۡش ُک ۡر ِلۡی َو ِلَو اِلَد ۡی َک ِاَلَّی اۡل َم ِص ۡی ُر ﴿‪﴾۱۵‬‬

‫‪SURAH HA MIM SAJDAH, CHAPTER 41:‬‬

‫ؕ﴿‪ُ ﴾۳۲‬نُز ًل ا ِّمۡن َغ ُف ۡو ٍر َّر ِح ۡی ٍم ﴿‪َ ﴾۳۳‬و َمۡن َا ۡح َس ُن َق ۡو ًل ا ِّم َّم ۡن َد َع ۤا ِاَل ی الّٰل ِه‬
‫ِم َن اۡل ُم ۡس ِلِم ۡی َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۳۴‬و َل ا َت ۡس َتِو ی اۡل َح َس َن ُة َو َل ا‬ ‫َص اِلًح ا َّو َق اَل ِاَّنِن ۡی‬ ‫َو َع ِم َل‬
‫َا ۡح َس ُن َف ِا َذ ا اَّلِذ ۡی َب ۡی َن َک َو َب ۡی َن ٗه َع َد اَو ٌۃ َک َا َّنٗه َو ِلٌّی‬ ‫ِاۡد َف ۡع ِب اَّلِت ۡی ِه َی‬ ‫الَّس ِّی َئ ُة‬

HIFZ-E-QURAN
RULES & REGULATIONS
Top three will qualify onward from local and regional competitions.
There will be one syllabus for local and regional competitions, and a separate
syllabus for the national competition.
For local competitions, only memorize up until the yellow star. For regional
competitions, memorize up until the red star. All portions, in their entirety,
will be part of the national syllabus, including the portions given for local and
regional competitions.
All Khuddam (with the exception of Huffaz) are allowed to participate.
Participants can be asked to recite from anywhere within the assigned
portions of the Holy Qur’an.

RUBRIC AND MARKING


Pronunciation and Tajweed Rules (15 points)
This refers to the correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters while adhering to the
rules of tajweed during recitation.

Memorization (15 points)


Marks will be given based on the correctness and fluency in the memorization of
the assigned portions of the Holy Qur’an.

‫َع َل ۡی َک ا ۡل ِک ٰتَب ِب ا ۡل َح ِّق ُم َص ِّد ًق ا ِّل َم ا َب ۡی َن َی َد ۡی ِه َو َا ۡن َز َل الَّت ۡو ٰر ٮ َة َو ا ۡل ِا ۡن ِج ۡی َل ۙ‬
‫﴿‪ِ ﴾۴‬م ۡن َق ۡب ُل‬
‫ُه ًد ی ِّل ل َّن ا ِس َو َا ۡن َز َل ا ۡل ُف ۡر َق اَن ؕ۬ ِا َّن ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن َک َف ُر ۡو ا ِب ٰاٰی ِت ال ّٰل ِه َل ُه ۡم َع َذ ا ٌب َش ِد ۡی ٌد َو ال ّٰل ُه‬
‫َع ِز ۡی ٌز ُذ و ا ۡن ِت َق ا ٍم ﴿‪ِ ﴾۵‬ا َّن ال ّٰل َه َل ا َی ۡخ ٰفی َع َل ۡی ِه َش ۡی ٌء ِف ی ا ۡل َاۡر ِض َو َل ا ِف ی ال َّس َم ٓا ِء ﴿‪﴾۶‬‬
‫ُه َو ا َّل ِذ ۡی ُیَص ِّوُر ُک ۡم ِف ی ا ۡل َاۡر َح ا ِم َک ۡی َف َی َش ٓا ُء َل ۤا ِا ٰلَه ِا َّلا ُه َو ا ۡل َع ِز ۡی ُز ا ۡل َح ِک ۡی ُم ﴿‪ُ ﴾۷‬ه َو‬
‫َف َا َّم ا‬ ‫ا َّل ِذ ٓۡی َا ۡن َز َل َع َل ۡی َک ا ۡل ِک ٰتَب ِم ۡن ُه ٰاٰی ٌت ُّم ۡح َک ٰم ٌت ُه َّن ُا ُّم ا ۡل ِک ٰتِب َو ُا َخ ُر ُم َت ٰش ِب ٰه ٌت‬
‫ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ِف ۡی ُقُل ۡو ِبِه ۡم َز ۡی ٌغ َف َی َّتِب ُع ۡو َن َم ا َتَش ا َبَه ِم ۡن ُه ا ۡب ِت َغ ٓا َء ا ۡل ِف ۡت َن ِة َو ا ۡب ِت َغ ٓا َء َتۡا ِوۡی ِل ٖه َو َم ا َیۡع َل ُم‬
‫َتۡا ِوۡی َل ࣤٗه ِا َّلا ال ّٰل ُه َو ال ّٰر ِس ُخ ۡو َن ِف ی ا ۡل ِع ۡل ِم َی ُق ۡو ُل ۡو َن ٰاَم َّن ا ِب ٖه ُک ٌّل ِّمۡن ِع ۡن ِد َر ِّب َن ا َو َم ا َی َّذ َّک ُر‬
‫ِم ۡن َّل ُد ۡن َک َر ۡح َم ًة‬ ‫ِا َّلۤا ُا و ُل وا ا ۡل َاۡل َب اِب ﴿‪َ ﴾۸‬ر َّب َن ا َل ا ُت ِز ۡغ ُقُل ۡو َب َن ا َبۡع َد ِا ۡذ َه َد ۡی َت َن ا َو َه ۡب َل َن ا‬
‫ِا َّن ال ّٰل َه َل ا ُی ۡخ ِل ُف‬ ‫ِا َّنَک َا ۡن َت ا ۡل َو َّه ا ُب ﴿‪َ ﴾۹‬ر َّب َنۤا ِا َّنَک َج ا ِم ُع ال َّن ا ِس ِلَی ۡو ٍم َّلا َر ۡی َب ِف ۡی ِه‬
‫ا ۡل ِم ۡی َع ا َد ﴿‪﴾۱۰‬‬

‫‪SURAH KAHF, CHAPTER 18, VERSES 1-11‬‬

‫ِب ۡس ِم ال ّٰل ِه ال َّر ۡح ٰمِن ال َّر ِح ۡی ِم ﴿‪َ ﴾۱‬ا ۡل َح ۡم ُد ِلّٰل ِه ا َّل ِذ ۤۡی َا ۡن َز َل َع ٰلی َع ۡب ِد ِہ ا ۡل ِک ٰتَب َو َل ۡم َیۡج َع ۡل َّل ٗه ِع َو ًج ا‬

‫َح َس ًنا ﴿‪َّ ﴾۳‬م ا ِک ِث ۡی َن ِف ۡی ِه َا َب ًد ا ﴿‪َّ ﴾ ۴‬و ُی ۡن ِذ َر ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن َق ا ُل وا ا َّتَخ َذ ال ّٰل ُه َو َل ًد ا ﴿‪َ ﴾۵‬م ا َل ُه ۡم ِب ٖه ِم ۡن‬
‫ِع ۡل ٍم َّو َل ا ِلٰاَب ٓا ِئِه ۡم َک ُبَر ۡت َک ِل َم ًة َتۡخ ُر ُج ِم ۡن َا ۡف َو ا ِه ِه ۡم ِا ۡن َّی ُق ۡو ُل ۡو َن ِا َّلا َک ِذ ًب ا ﴿‪َ ﴾۶‬ف َل َع َّل َک َب ا ِخ ٌع‬
‫َّنۡف َس َک َع ٰۤل ی ٰاَث ا ِر ِه ۡم ِا ۡن َّل ۡم ُی ۡؤ ِم ُن ۡو ا ِب ٰه َذ ا ا ۡل َح ِد ۡی ِث َا َس ًف ا ﴿‪ِ ﴾۷‬ا َّنا َج َع ۡل َنا َم ا َع َل ی ا ۡل َاۡر ِض ِز ۡی َن ًة َّل َه ا‬
‫ِلَن ۡب ُل َو ُه ۡم َا ُّیُه ۡم َا ۡح َس ُن َع َم ًل ا ﴿‪َ ﴾۸‬و ِا َّنا َلٰج ِع ُل ۡو َن َم ا َع َل ۡی َه ا َص ِع ۡی ًد ا ُج ُر ًز ا ﴿‪َ ﴾۹‬ا ۡم َح ِس ۡب َت َاَّن‬
‫َا ۡص ٰح َب ا ۡل َکْه ِف َو ال َّر ِق ۡی ِم َک ا ُن ۡو ا ِم ۡن ٰاٰی ِت َنا َع َج ًب ا ﴿‪ِ ﴾۱۰‬ا ۡذ َا َو ی ا ۡل ِف ۡت َی ُة ِا َل ی ا ۡل َکْه ِف َف َق ا ُل ۡو ا َر َّب َنۤا‬
‫ٰاِتَنا ِم ۡن َّل ُد ۡن َک َر ۡح َم ًة َّو َه ِّی یۡٴ َل َنا ِم ۡن َا ۡم ِر َن ا َر َش ًد ا ﴿‪﴾۱۱‬‬

‫َو ُه ۡم َیۡح َس ُب ۡو َن َا َّنُه ۡم ُیۡح ِس ُن ۡو َن ُص ۡن ًع ا ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۰۵‬ا و ٰٓلِئ َک ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن َک َف ُر ۡو ا ِب ٰاٰی ِت َر ِّبِه ۡم َو ِلَق ٓا ِئ ٖه َف َح ِب َط ۡت‬
‫ُن ِق ۡی ُم َل ُه ۡم َی ۡو َم ا ۡل ِق ٰی َم ِة َو ۡز ًن ا ﴿‪ٰ ﴾۱۰۶‬ذِلَک َج َز ٓاُؤ ُه ۡم َج َه َّن ُم ِب َم ا َک َف ُر ۡو ا َو ا َّتَخ ُذ ۤۡو ا‬ ‫َاۡع َم ا ُل ُه ۡم َف َل ا‬
‫ُه ُز ًو ا ﴿‪ِ ﴾۱۰۷‬ا َّن ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُن ۡو ا َو َع ِم ُل وا الّٰص ِل ٰح ِت َک ا َن ۡت َل ُه ۡم َج ّٰن ُت ا ۡل ِف ۡر َد ۡو ِس‬ ‫ٰاٰی ِت ۡی َو ُر ُس ِل ۡی‬
‫ِح َو ًل ا ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۰۹‬ق ۡل َّل ۡو َک اَن ا ۡل َب ۡح ُر ِم َد ا ًد ا ِّل َک ِل ٰم ِت‬ ‫﴿‪ٰ ﴾۱۰۸‬خ ِلِد ۡی َن ِف ۡی َه ا َل ا َی ۡب ُغ ۡو َن َع ۡن َه ا‬ ‫ۙ‬ ‫ُن ُز ًل ا‬
‫َو َل ۡو ِج ۡئ َنا ِب ِم ۡث ِل ٖه َم َد ًد ا ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۱۰‬ق ۡل ِا َّنَم ۤا َا َن ا َب َش ٌر‬ ‫َر ِّب ۡی َل َن ِف َد ا ۡل َب ۡح ُر َق ۡب َل َاۡن َتۡن َف َد َک ِل ٰمُت َر ِّب ۡی‬
‫َف َم ۡن َک اَن َی ۡر ُج ۡو ا ِلَق ٓا َء َر ِّب ٖه َف ۡل َی ۡع َم ۡل َع َم ًل ا َص ا ِلًح ا‬ ‫ِّم ۡث ُلُک ۡم ُی ۡو ٰۤح ی ِا َل َّی َا َّنَم ۤا ِا ٰلـُه ُک ۡم ِا ٰلٌه َّو ا ِح ٌد‬
‫َّو َل ا ُی ۡش ِر ۡک ِب ِع َب ا َد ِۃ َر ِّب ࣦٖه َا َح ًد ا ﴿‪﴾۱۱۱‬‬

‫‪SURAH MUMINOON, CHAPTER 23, VERSES 1-17‬‬

‫ال َّر ِح ۡی ِم ﴿‪َ ﴾۱‬ق ۡد َا ۡف َل َح ا ۡل ُم ۡؤ ِم ُن ۡو َن ﴿‪ ﴾۲‬ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ُه ۡم ِفۡی َص َل ا ِتِه ۡم ٰخِش ُعۡو َن‬ ‫ِب ۡس ِم ال ّٰل ِه ال َّر ۡح ٰمِن‬
‫ۙ‬
‫﴿‪َ ﴾۵‬و ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ُه ۡم‬ ‫﴿‪َ ﴾۴‬و ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ُه ۡم ِلل َّز ٰکو ِۃ ٰفِع ُل ۡو َن‬
‫ۙ‬ ‫َع ِن ال َّل ۡغ ِو ُم ۡع ِر ُض ۡو َن‬ ‫ۙ‬
‫﴿‪َ ﴾۳‬و ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ُه ۡم‬
‫﴿‪ِ ﴾۶‬اَّلا َع ٰۤل ی َاۡز َو ا ِج ِه ۡم َا ۡو َم ا َم َلَکۡت َا ۡی َم ا ُنُه ۡم َف ِا َّنُه ۡم َغ ۡی ُر َم ُل ۡو ِم ۡی َن ۚ ﴿‪﴾۷‬‬ ‫ِلُف ُر ۡو ِج ِه ۡم ٰح ِف ُظ ۡو َن‬
‫َف َم ِن ا ۡب َت ٰغی َو َر ٓا َء ٰذِلَک َف ُا و ٰٓلِئ َک ُه ُم ا ۡل ٰعُد ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۸‬و ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ُه ۡم ِلَاٰمٰنِت ِه ۡم َو َع ْه ِد ِه ۡم ٰر ُع ۡو َن‬
‫﴿ۙ‪َ ﴾۹‬و ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ُه ۡم َع ٰلی َص َل ٰو ِتِه ۡم ُی َح ا ِفُظ ۡو َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۰‬ا و ٰٓلِئ َک ُه ُم ا ۡل ٰوِرُثۡو َن ۙ﴿‪ ﴾۱۱‬ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن‬
‫َیِر ُثۡو َن ا ۡل ِف ۡر َد ۡو َس ؕ ُه ۡم ِفۡی َه ا ٰخ ِل ُد ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۲‬و َل َق ۡد َخ َل ۡق َن ا ا ۡل ِا ۡن َس اَن ِم ۡن ُس ٰلَل ٍة ِّمۡن ِط ۡی ٍن ۚ﴿‪﴾۱۳‬‬
‫ال ُّنۡط َف َة َع َل َق ًة َف َخ َل ۡق َن ا ا ۡل َع َل َق َة ُم ۡض َغ ًة َف َخ َل ۡق َن ا‬ ‫ُثَّم َج َع ۡل ٰنُه ُنۡط َف ًة ِفۡی َق َر ا ٍر َّم ِک ۡی ٍن‬
‫۪﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۴‬ثَّم َخ َل ۡق َن ا‬
‫َخ ۡل ًق ا ٰاَخ َر ؕ َف َتٰب َر َک ال ّٰل ُه َا ۡح َس ُن ا ۡل ٰخ ِلِق ۡی َن‬ ‫َل ۡح ًم ا ُثَّم َا ۡن َش ۡا ٰنُه‬
‫ا ۡل ُم ۡض َغ َة ِع ٰظًم ا َف َک َس ۡو َن ا ا ۡل ِع ٰظَم‬
‫ؕ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۵‬ثَّم ِاَّنُک ۡم َبۡع َد ٰذِلَک َل َم ِّی ُت ۡو َن ؕ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۶‬ثَّم ِاَّنُک ۡم َی ۡو َم ا ۡل ِق ٰی َم ِة ُتۡب َع ُث ۡو َن ﴿‪﴾۱۷‬‬

‫‪SURAH SAJDAH, CHAPTER 32, VERSES 1-31‬‬
‫ِب ۡس ِم ال ّٰل ِه ال َّر ۡح ٰمِن ال َّر ِح ۡی ِم ﴿‪ ﴾۱‬ا ٓل ـ ّٓم ﴿‪َ ﴾۲‬تۡن ِز ۡی ُل ا ۡل ِک ٰتِب َل ا َر ۡی َب ِف ۡی ِه ِم ۡن َّر ِّب ا ۡل ٰعَل ِم ۡی َن ؕ ﴿‪َ ﴾۳‬ا ۡم َی ُق ۡو ُل ۡو َن‬
‫ا ۡف َت ٰر ٮ ُه َبۡل ُه َو ا ۡل َح ُّق ِم ۡن َّر ِّب َک ِلُت ۡن ِذ َر َق ۡو ًم ا َّم ۤا َا ٰتُه ۡم ِّمۡن َّن ِذ ۡی ٍر ِّمۡن َق ۡب ِل َک َل َع َّل ُه ۡم َی ْه َتُد ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۴‬ا ل ّٰل ُه ا َّل ِذ ۡی‬
‫َخ َل َق ال َّس ٰمٰو ِت َو ا ۡل َا ۡر َض َو َم ا َب ۡی َن ُه َم ا ِف ۡی ِس َّت ِة َا َّیا ٍم ُث َّم ا ۡس َتٰوی َع َل ی ا ۡل َع ۡر ِش ؕ َم ا َلُک ۡم ِّمۡن ُد ۡو ِن ٖه ِم ۡن َّو ِلٍّی‬
‫َّو َل ا َش ِف ۡی ٍع ؕ َا َف َل ا َت َت َذ َّک ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۵‬ی َد ِّب ُر ا ۡل َا ۡم َر ِم َن ال َّس َم ٓا ِء ِا َل ی ا ۡل َا ۡر ِض ُث َّم َیۡع ُر ُج ِا َل ۡی ِه ِف ۡی َی ۡو ٍم َک اَن ِم ۡق َد ا ُر ۤٗہ‬
‫َا ۡل َف َس َن ًة ِّم َّم ا َت ُع ُّد ۡو َن ﴿‪ٰ ﴾۶‬ذِلَک ٰع ِل ُم ا ۡل َغ ۡی ِب َو ال َّش َه ا َد ِۃ ا ۡل َع ِز ۡی ُز ال َّر ِح ۡی ُم ﴿‪ ﴾۷‬ا َّل ِذ ٓۡی َا ۡح َس َن ُک َّل َش ۡی ٍء‬
‫َخ َل َق ٗه َو َب َد َا َخ ۡل َق ا ۡل ِا ۡن َس ا ِن ِم ۡن ِط ۡی ٍن ۚ ﴿‪ُ ﴾۸‬ث َّم َج َع َل َن ۡس َل ٗه ِم ۡن ُس ٰلَل ٍة ِّمۡن َّم ٓا ٍء َّم ِه ۡی ٍن ۚ ﴿‪ُ ﴾۹‬ث َّم َس ّٰو ٮ ُه َو َنَف َخ‬
‫ِف ۡی ِه ِم ۡن ُّرۡو ِح ٖه َو َج َع َل َلُک ُم ال َّس ۡم َع َو ا ۡل َا ۡب َص ا َر َو ا ۡل َا ۡف ِٕـَد َۃ ؕ َق ِل ۡی ًل ا َّم ا َت ۡش ُک ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۰‬و َق ا ُل ۤۡو ا َء ِا َذ ا َض َل ۡل َنا ِف ی‬
‫ا ۡل َا ۡر ِض َء ِا َّن ا َل ِف ۡی َخ ۡل ٍق َج ِد ۡی ٍد ؕ۬ َبۡل ُه ۡم ِب ِل َق ٓأِی َر ِّبِه ۡم ٰکِف ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱۱‬ق ۡل َی َت َو ّٰف ٮ ُک ۡم َّم َل ُک ا ۡل َم ۡو ِت ا َّل ِذ ۡی ُو ِّک َل‬
‫َر َّبَنۤا َا ۡب َص ۡر َن ا‬ ‫ِب ُک ۡم ُث َّم ِا ٰلی َر ِّب ُک ۡم ُت ۡر َج ُع ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۲‬و َل ۡو َت ٰۤر ی ِاِذ ا ۡل ُم ۡج ِر ُمۡو َن َن ا ِک ُس ۡو ا ُر ُء ۡو ِس ِه ۡم ِع ۡن َد َر ِّبِه ۡم‬
‫َو َس ِم ۡع َنا َف ا ۡر ِج ۡع َنا َن ۡع َم ۡل َص ا ِلًح ا ِا َّن ا ُمۡو ِق ُن ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۳‬و َل ۡو ِش ۡئ َنا َل ٰاَت ۡی َنا ُک َّل َن ۡف ٍس ُه ٰد ٮَه ا َو ٰلِک ۡن َح َّق ا ۡل َق ۡو ُل‬
‫ِم ِّن ۡی َلَا ۡم َل َٔـَّن َج َه َّن َم ِم َن ا ۡل ِج َّن ِة َو ال َّن ا ِس َا ۡج َم ِع ۡی َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۴‬فُذ ۡو ُق ۡو ا ِب َم ا َن ِس ۡی ُت ۡم ِلَق ٓا َء َی ۡو ِم ُک ۡم ٰھَذ ا ِا َّن ا َن ِس ۡی ٰن ُک ۡم‬
‫َو ُذ ۡو ُق ۡو ا َع َذ ا َب ا ۡل ُخ ۡل ِد ِب َم ا ُک ۡن ُت ۡم َت ۡع َم ُل ۡو َن ﴿‪ِ ﴾۱۵‬ا َّن َم ا ُی ۡؤ ِم ُن ِب ٰاٰی ِت َنا ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ِا َذ ا ُذ ِّک ُر ۡو ا ِبِه ا َخ ُّر ۡو ا ُس َّج ًد ا‬
‫َّو َس َّب ُح ۡو ا ِب َح ۡم ِد َر ِّبِه ۡم َو ُه ۡم َل ا َیۡس َت ۡک ِب ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۶‬ت َت َج ا ٰفی ُج ُن ۡو ُبُه ۡم َع ِن ا ۡل َم َض ا ِج ِع َی ۡد ُع ۡو َن َر َّبُه ۡم َخ ۡو ًف ا‬
‫َّو َط َم ًع ا َّو ِم َّم ا َر َز ۡق ٰن ُه ۡم ُی ۡن ِف ُق ۡو َن ﴿‪﴾۱۷‬ز َف َل ا َت ۡع َل ُم َن ۡف ٌس َّم ۤا ُا ۡخ ِف َی َل ُه ۡم ِّمۡن ُق َّر ِۃ َاۡع ُی ٍن َج َز ٓاًۢء ِب َم ا َک ا ُن ۡو ا‬
‫َیۡع َم ُل ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۸‬ا َف َم ۡن َک اَن ُم ۡؤ ِم ًنا َک َم ۡن َک اَن َف ا ِس ًق ا َل ا َیۡس َت ٗو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۹‬ا َّم ا ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُن ۡو ا َو َع ِم ُل وا الّٰص ِل ٰح ِت‬
‫َف َل ُه ۡم َج ّٰن ُت ا ۡل َم ۡا ٰوی ُن ُز ًۢل ا ِب َم ا َک ا ُن ۡو ا َیۡع َم ُل ۡو َن ﴿‪﴾۲۰‬ز َو َا َّم ا ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن َف َس ُق ۡو ا َف َم ۡا ٰوٮُه ُم ال َّن ا ُر ؕ ُک َّل َم ۤا َا َر ا ُد ۤۡو ا َاۡن‬
‫َّی ۡخ ُر ُج ۡو ا ِم ۡن َه ۤا ُا ِع ۡی ُد ۡو ا ِف ۡی َه ا َو ِق ۡی َل َل ُه ۡم ُذ ۡو ُق ۡو ا َع َذ ا َب ال َّن ا ِر ا َّل ِذ ۡی ُک ۡن ُت ۡم ِب ٖه ُت َک ِّذ ُب ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۲۱‬و َل ُن ِذ ۡی َق َّن ُه ۡم ِّم َن‬
‫ا ۡل َا ۡک َب ِر َل َع َّل ُه ۡم َی ۡر ِج ُع ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۲۲‬و َم ۡن َا ۡظ َل ُم ِم َّم ۡن ُذ ِّک َر ِب ٰاٰی ِت َر ِّب ٖه ُث َّم َاۡع َر َض‬ ‫ا ۡل َع َذ اِب ا ۡل َا ۡد ٰن ی ُد ۡو َن ا ۡل َع َذ اِب‬
‫ُم ۡن َت ِق ُم ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۲۳‬و َل َق ۡد ٰاَت ۡی َنا ُمۡو َس ی ا ۡل ِک ٰتَب َف َل ا َت ُک ۡن ِف ۡی ِم ۡر َی ٍة ِّمۡن ِّلَق ٓا ِئ ٖه‬ ‫َع ۡن َه ا ِا َّن ا ِم َن ا ۡل ُم ۡج ِر ِم ۡی َن‬
‫ۚ﴿‪َ ﴾۲۴‬و َج َع ۡل َنا ِم ۡن ُه ۡم َا ِئ َّم ًة َّی ْه ُد ۡو َن ِب َا ۡم ِر َن ا َل َّم ا َص َبُر ۡو ا ؕ۟ َو َک ا ُن ۡو ا ِب ٰاٰی ِت َنا ُی ۡو ِق ُن ۡو َن‬ ‫َو َج َع ۡل ٰن ُه ُه ًد ی ِّل َب ِن ۤۡی ِا ۡس َر ٓا ِء ۡی َل‬
‫﴿‪ِ ﴾۲۵‬ا َّن َر َّب َک ُه َو َی ۡف ِص ُل َب ۡی َن ُه ۡم َی ۡو َم ا ۡل ِق ٰی َم ِة ِف ۡی َم ا َک ا ُن ۡو ا ِف ۡی ِه َی ۡخ َت ِل ُف ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۲۶‬ا َو َل ۡم َی ْه ِد َل ُه ۡم َک ۡم َاْه َل ۡک َنا‬
‫ِم ۡن َق ۡب ِل ِه ۡم ِّم َن ا ۡل ُق ُر ۡو ِن َی ۡم ُش ۡو َن ِف ۡی َم ٰس ِک ِن ِه ۡم ؕ ِا َّن ِف ۡی ٰذِلَک َل ٰاٰی ٍت ؕ َا َف َل ا َیۡس َم ُع ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۲۷‬ا َو َل ۡم َی َر ۡو ا َا َّن ا‬
‫َن ُس ۡو ُق ا ۡل َم ٓا َء ِا َل ی ا ۡل َا ۡر ِض ا ۡل ُج ُر ِز َف ُن ۡخ ِر ُج ِب ٖه َز ۡر ًع ا َتۡا ُک ُل ِم ۡن ُہ َا ۡن َع ا ُم ُه ۡم َو َا ۡن ُف ُس ُه ۡم ؕ َا َف َل ا ُی ۡب ِص ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪﴾۲۸‬‬
‫َو َی ُق ۡو ُل ۡو َن َم ٰتی ٰهَذ ا ا ۡل َف ۡت ُح ِا ۡن ُک ۡن ُت ۡم ٰص ِد ِق ۡی َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۲۹‬ق ۡل َی ۡو َم ا ۡل َف ۡت ِح َل ا َی ۡن َف ُع ا َّل ِذ ۡی َن َک َف ُر ۤۡو ا ِا ۡی َم ا ُن ُه ۡم َو َل ا ُه ۡم‬
‫ُی ۡن َظ ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۳۰‬ف َاۡع ِر ۡض َع ۡن ُه ۡم َو ا ۡن َت ِظ ۡر ِا َّن ُه ۡم ُّم ۡن َت ِظ ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪﴾۳۱‬‬

‫‪SURAH SAFF, CHAPTER 61, VERSES 1-15‬‬

‫ِب ۡس ِم الّٰل ِه الَّر ۡح ٰمِن الَّر ِح ۡی ِم ﴿‪َ ﴾۱‬س َّب َح ِلّٰل ِه َم ا ِفی الَّس ٰمٰو ِت َو َم ا ِفی اۡل َاۡر ِض َو ُه َو‬
‫اۡل َع ِز ۡی ُز اۡل َح ِک ۡی ُم ﴿‪ٰۤ ﴾۲‬ی َا ُّیَه ا اَّلِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُن ۡو ا ِلَم َتُق ۡو ُل ۡو َن َم ا َل ا َت ۡف َع ُل ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۳‬ک ُبَر َم ۡق ًتا ِع ۡن َد‬
‫الّٰل ِه َاۡن َتُق ۡو ُل ۡو ا َم ا َل ا َت ۡف َع ُل ۡو َن ﴿‪ِ ﴾۴‬اَّن الّٰل َه ُی ِح ُّب اَّلِذ ۡی َن ُی َق اِتُل ۡو َن ِفۡی َس ِب ۡی ِل ٖه َص ًّف ا‬
‫َک َا َّنُه ۡم ُب ۡن َی اٌن َّم ۡر ُص ۡو ٌص ﴿‪َ ﴾۵‬و ِاۡذ َق اَل ُمۡو ٰس ی ِلَق ۡو ِم ٖه ٰیَق ۡو ِم ِلَم ُتۡؤ ُذ ۡو َن ِن ۡی َو َق ۡد َّتۡع َل ُم ۡو َن‬
‫َا ِّنۡی َر ُس ۡو ُل الّٰل ِه ِاَل ۡی ُک ۡم ؕ َف َل َّم ا َز اُغ ۤۡو ا َا َز اَغ الّٰل ُه ُقُل ۡو َب ُه ۡم َو الّٰل ُه َل ا َی ْه ِد ی اۡل َق ۡو َم‬
‫اۡل ٰفِس ِق ۡی َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۶‬و ِاۡذ َق اَل ِع ۡی َس ی اۡب ُن َم ۡر َی َم ٰیَب ِن ۤۡی ِاۡس َر ٓا ِء ۡی َل ِاِّنۡی َر ُس ۡو ُل الّٰل ِه ِاَل ۡی ُک ۡم ُّم َص ِّد ًق ا‬
‫ِّلَم ا َب ۡی َن َی َد َّی ِم َن الَّتۡو ٰر ٮِة َو ُم َب ِّش ًۢر ا ِب َر ُس ۡو ٍل َّی ۡا ِتۡی ِم ۢۡن َبۡع ِد ی اۡس ُم ࣤٗه َا ۡح َم ُد َف َل َّم ا َج ٓا َء ُه ۡم‬
‫ِب اۡل َبِّی ٰنِت َق اُل ۡو ا ٰهَذ ا ِس ۡح ٌر ُّم ِب ۡی ٌن ﴿‪َ ﴾۷‬و َمۡن َا ۡظ َل ُم ِم َّم ِن اۡف َت ٰر ی َع َل ی الّٰل ِه اۡل َک ِذ َب َو ُه َو‬
‫ُی ۡد ٰۤع ی ِاَل ی اۡل ِا ۡس َل اِم َو الّٰل ُه َل ا َی ْه ِد ی اۡل َق ۡو َم الّٰظ ِلِم ۡی َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۸‬یِر ۡی ُد ۡو َن ِلُي ْط ِف ُئ ْو ا ُنۡو َر‬
‫الّٰل ِه ِب َا ۡف َو اِه ِه ۡم َو الّٰل ُه ُم ِت ُّم ُنۡو ِرٖہ َو َل ۡو َک ِر َہ اۡل ٰکِف ُر ۡو َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۹‬ه َو اَّلِذ ۤۡی َا ۡر َس َل َر ُس ۡو َل ٗه‬
‫ِب اۡل ُه ٰد ی َو ِد ۡی ِن اۡل َح ِّق ِلُی ۡظ ِه َر ٗہ َع َل ی الِّد ۡی ِن ُک ِّل ٖه َو َل ۡو َک ِر َہ اۡل ُم ۡش ِر ُک ۡو َن ﴿‪ٰۤ ﴾۱۰‬ی َا ُّیَه ا‬
‫ُتۡؤ ِم ُن ۡو َن ِباالّٰل ِه‬ ‫اَّلِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُن ۡو ا َه ۡل َا ُد ُّلُک ۡم َع ٰلی ِتَج اَر ٍۃ ُتۡن ِج ۡی ُک ۡم ِّمۡن َع َذ اٍب َا ِلۡی ٍم ﴿‪﴾۱۱‬‬
‫َّلُک ۡم ِاۡن ُک ۡن ُت ۡم‬ ‫َو َر ُس ۡو ِلٖه َو ُتَج اِه ُد ۡو َن ِفۡی َس ِب ۡی ِل الّٰل ِه ِب َا ۡم َو اِلُک ۡم َو َا ۡن ُف ِس ُک ۡم ٰذِلُک ۡم َخ ۡی ٌر‬
‫اۡل َاۡن ٰه ُر َو َم ٰس ِک َن‬ ‫َت ۡع َل ُم ۡو َن ۙ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۲‬ی ۡغ ِف ۡر َلُک ۡم ُذُنۡو َب ُک ۡم َو ُی ۡد ِخ ۡل ُک ۡم َج ّٰنٍت َت ۡج ِر ۡی ِم ۡن َت ۡح ِت َه ا‬
‫َط ِّیَب ًة ِفۡی َج ّٰنِت َع ۡد ٍن ؕ ٰذِلَک اۡل َف ۡو ُز اۡل َع ِظ ۡی ُم ۙ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۳‬و ُاۡخ ٰر ی ُتِح ُّب ۡو َن َه ا َن ۡص ٌر ِّم َن الّٰل ِه‬
‫َو َف ۡت ٌح َق ِر ۡی ٌب ؕ َو َب ِّش ِر اۡل ُم ۡؤ ِم ِن ۡی َن ﴿‪ٰۤ ﴾۱۴‬ی َا ُّیَه ا اَّلِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُن ۡو ا ُک ۡو ُنۤۡو ا َا ۡن َص اَر الّٰل ِه َک َم ا َق اَل‬
‫ِع ۡی َس ی اۡب ُن َم ۡر َی َم ِلۡل َح َو اِرّٖی َن َمۡن َا ۡن َص اِرۤۡی ِاَل ی الّٰل ِه َق اَل اۡل َح َو اِرُّی ۡو َن َن ۡح ُن َا ۡن َص اُر الّٰل ِه‬
‫َف ٰاَم َنۡت َّط ٓا ِئَف ٌة ِّم ۢۡن َب ِن ۤۡی ِاۡس َر ٓا ِء ۡی َل َو َک َف َر ۡت َّط ٓا ِئَف ٌة َف َا َّی ۡد َن ا اَّلِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُن ۡو ا َع ٰلی َع ُد ِّو ِھ ْم‬
‫َف َا ۡص َب ُح ۡو ا ٰظِه ِر ۡی َن ﴿‪﴾۱۵‬‬

‫‪SURAH JUMUAH, CHAPTER 62, VERSES 1-12‬‬

‫ِبۡس ِم الّٰلِه الَّر ۡح ٰمِن الَّر ِح ۡی ِم ﴿‪ُ ﴾۱‬یَس ِّبُح ِلّٰلِه َم ا ِفی الَّس ٰمٰو ِت َو َم ا ِفی اۡل َا ۡر ِض‬
‫اۡل َم ِلِک اۡلُق ُّد ۡو ِس اۡل َع ِز ۡی ِز اۡل َح ِکۡی ِم ﴿‪ُ ﴾۲‬ه َو اَّلِذ ۡی َب َع َث ِفی اۡل ُاِّمّٖی َن َرُس ۡو ًلا ِّمۡن ُه ۡم‬
‫َی ۡتُلۡو ا َع َل ۡی ِه ۡم ٰاٰیِتٖه َو ُیَز ِّک ۡی ِه ۡم َو ُیَع ِّلُم ُه ُم اۡل ِکٰتَب َو اۡل ِح ۡک َم َة َو ِاۡن َکاُنۡو ا ِم ۡن َقۡب ُل‬
‫َلِف ۡی َض ٰلٍل ُّمِبۡی ٍن ۙ ﴿‪َّ ﴾۳‬و ٰاَخ ِر ۡی َن ِم ۡن ُه ۡم َلَّم ا َی ۡل َح ُق ۡو ا ِبِه ۡم َو ُه َو اۡل َع ِز ۡی ُز اۡل َح ِکۡی ُم‬
‫﴿‪ٰ ﴾۴‬ذِلَک َفۡض ُل الّٰلِه ُیۡؤ ِتۡی ِه َمۡن َّیَش ٓاُء َو الّٰلُه ُذ و اۡلَفۡض ِل اۡل َع ِظ ۡی ِم ﴿‪َ ﴾۵‬م َثُل‬
‫اَّلِذ ۡی َن ُح ِّم ُلوا الَّتۡو ٰر ٮَة ُثَّم َلۡم َیۡح ِم ُلۡو َه ا َک َم َثِل اۡل ِح َم اِر َیۡح ِم ُل َاۡس َف اًر ا ِبۡئ َس َم َثُل‬
‫اۡلَق ۡو ِم اَّلِذ ۡی َن َک َّذ ُبۡو ا ِبٰاٰیِت الّٰلِه َو الّٰلُه َلا َی ْه ِد ی اۡلَق ۡو َم الّٰظ ِلِم ۡی َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۶‬قۡل ٰۤی َاُّیَه ا‬
‫اَّلِذ ۡی َن َه اُد ۤۡو ا ِاۡن َز َع ۡم ُتۡم َاَّنُک ۡم َاۡو ِلَی ٓاُء الّٰلِه ِم ۡن ُد ۡو ِن الَّناِس َفَتَم َّنُو ا اۡل َم ۡو َت ِاۡن‬
‫ُک ۡن ُتۡم ٰص ِدِقۡی َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۷‬و َلا َی َتَم َّنۡو َنࣤٗه َاَب ًۢد ا ِبَم ا َقَّد َم ۡت َاۡی ِد ۡی ِه ۡم َو الّٰلُه َع ِلۡی ٌۢم‬
‫ِبالّٰظ ِلِم ۡی َن ﴿‪ُ ﴾۸‬قۡل ِاَّن اۡل َم ۡو َت اَّلِذ ۡی َتِف ُّر ۡو َن ِم ۡن ُه َفِاَّنٗه ُم ٰلِق ۡی ُک ۡم ُثَّم ُتَر ُّد ۡو َن ِاٰلی‬
‫ٰعِلِم اۡل َغ ۡی ِب َو الَّش َه اَد ِۃ َفُیَنِّبُئُک ۡم ِبَم ا ُک ۡن ُتۡم َتۡع َم ُلۡو َن ﴿‪ٰۤ ﴾۹‬ی َاُّیَه ا اَّلِذ ۡی َن ٰاَم ُنۤۡو ا ِاَذ ا‬
‫ُنۡو ِد َی ِللَّص ٰلوِۃ ِم ۡن َّیۡو ِم اۡل ُج ُم َع ِة َفاۡس َعۡو ا ِاٰلی ِذ ۡک ِر الّٰلِه َو َذ ُر وا اۡل َب ۡی َع ؕ ٰذِلُک ۡم َخ ۡی ٌر‬
‫َّلُک ۡم ِاۡن ُک ۡن ُتۡم َتۡع َل ُم ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۰‬فِاَذ ا ُقِض َی ِت الَّص ٰلوُۃ َفاۡن َتِش ُر ۡو ا ِفی اۡل َاۡر ِض َو اۡب َتُغ ۡو ا‬
‫ِم ۡن َفۡض ِل الّٰلِه َو اۡذ ُک ُر وا الّٰلَه َک ِثۡی ًر ا َّلَع َّلُک ۡم ُتۡف ِلُح ۡو َن ﴿‪َ ﴾۱۱‬و ِاَذ ا َر َاۡو ا ِتَج اَر ًۃ َاۡو‬
‫َلْه ًو ا اۡن َف ُّض ۤۡو ا ِاَلۡی َه ا َو َتَر ُک ۡو َک َقٓاِئًم اؕ ُقۡل َم ا ِع ۡن َد الّٰلِه َخ ۡی ٌر ِّمَن الَّلْه ِو َو ِم َن الِّتَج اَر ِۃ‬
‫﴿ؕو َاّللهٰ ُخ یَ رۡ ُ اّرل زٰقِیِ نۡ َ ‪﴾۱۲‬‬

‫ِب ۡس ِم ال ّٰل ِه ال َّر ۡح ٰمِن ال َّر ِح ۡی ِم ﴿‪َ ﴾۱‬و ا ۡل َف ۡج ِر ۙ ﴿‪َ ﴾۲‬و َل َی ا ٍل َع ۡش ٍر ۙ ﴿‪َّ ﴾ ۳‬و ال َّش ۡف ِع‬

‫ َكاَنْت َلُه َص َد َقًة ‏‬،‫ِإَذ ا َأْنَف َق اْلُم ْس ِلُم َنَفَقًة َع َل ى َأْه ِلِه َو ُه َو َيْح َتِس ُبَه ا‬

When a Muslim spends something on his family intending to receive Allah's reward it is regarded
as Sadaqa for him. (Bukhari)

‫ َأِو اْلَق اِئِم الَّلْيَل الَّص اِئِم الَّنَه اَر‬، ‫الَّس اِع ي َع َل ى الَاْرَم َل ِة َو اْلِم ْس ِكيِن َك اْلُم َج اِهِد ِفي َس ِبيِل الّٰلِه‬

The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for
Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day. (Bukhari)

‫ َو َلْو ُأْه ِد َي ِإَلَّى ِذ َر اٌع َأْو ُك َر اٌع َلَق ِبْل ُت‬، ‫َلْو ُد ِع ْي ُت ِإَلى ِذ َر اٍع َأْو ُك َر اٍع َلَاَج ْب ُت‬

I shall accept the invitation even if I were invited to a meal of a sheep's trotter, and I shall accept
the gift even if it were an arm or a trotter of a sheep. (Bukhari)

‫ ِإلَّا َكاَن َلُه ِبِه َص َد َقٌة‬،‫ َفَي ْأُك ُل ِم ْنُه َط ْي ٌر َأْو ِإْنَس اٌن َأْو َب ِه ْيَم ٌة‬،‫ َأْو َيْز َر ُع َز ْر ًعا‬،‫َم ا ِم ْن ُم ْس ِلٍم َي ْغ ِر ُس َغ ْرًس ا‬
There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person
or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him. (Bukhari)

‫ِإَذ ا ُو ِض َع اْلَع َش اُء َو ُأِقْيَم ِت الَّص لَاُة َفاْبَد ُءوا ِباْلَع َش اِء‬

If supper is served, and Iqama is pronounced one should start with the
supper. (Bukhari)

‫َم ا َأْنَز َل الّٰلُه َد اًء ِإلَّا َأْنَز َل َلُه ِش َف اًء‬

There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment.
(Bukhari)

‫اْلَخ اِزُن الَاِم يُن اَّلِذ ي ُيَؤ ِّد ي َم ا ُأِم َر ِبِه َط ِّيَب ًة َنْف ُس ُه َأَح ُد اْلُم َتَص ِّد َقْي ِن‬

The honest treasurer who gives willingly what he is ordered to give, is one of the two charitable
persons, (the second being the owner) (Bukhari)

‫ُك ُّل َش َر اٍب َأْس َك َر َفُه َو َح َر اٌم ‏‬

All drinks that intoxicate are unlawful (to drink). (Bukhari)

‫ َو َع َل ى َمْن َلْم َتْعِر ْف‬، ‫ َو َتْق َر ُأ الَّس لَاَم َع َل ى َمْن َع َر ْفَت‬، ‫ُتْطِع ُم الَّط َع اَم‬

Feed the people, and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not know. (Bukhari)

‫ َو اْلَق ِلْيُل َع َل ى اْلَك ِثْي ِر‬، ‫ َو اْلَم اُّر َع َل ى اْلَق اِع ِد‬، ‫ُيَس ِّلُم الَّص ِغ ْي ُر َع َل ى اْلَك ِبْي ِر‬

The young should greet the old, the passer by should greet the sitting one, and the small group
of persons should greet the large group of persons. (Bukhari)

‫ َفْل َي ِص ْل َر ِح َم ُه‬، ‫ َو َأْن ُيْنَس َأ َلُه ِفي َأَثِر ِه‬، ‫َمْن َس َّر ُه َأْن ُيْبَس َط َلُه ِفي ِرْز ِقِه‬

Who ever is pleased that he be granted more wealth and that his lease of life be pro longed, then
he should keep good relations with his Kith and kin. (Bukhari)

‫‏ ُك ُّل َم ْع ُر وٍف َص َد َقٌة‏‬

Enjoining, all that is good is a Sadaqa. (Bukhari)

13

‫َالَّتاِئُب ِم َن الَّذْنِب َک َم ْن َلا َذ ْنَب َلُه‬


One who repents from sin is like someone without sin. (Ibn Maajah)

14

‫َلا َي ْش ُک ُر الّٰلَه َمْن َّلا َی ْش ُک ُر الَّناَس‬


He does not thank Allah who does not thank people. (Sunan Abi Dawud)

15

‫َم ا َه َل َك إْم ُر ٌؤ َع َر َف َقْد َر ُه‬


“A man who knows his worth will not be ruined. (Al Arba’in)

‫اْلَّس ِع ْی ُد َمْن ُّو ِع َظ ِبَغ ْی ِر ِه‬

The felicitous person takes lessons from (the actions of) others. (Muslim)

‫اْلِغ َنى ِغ َنى الَّنْف ِس‬

Richness lies in the richness of the soul. (Muslim)

18

‫َالَّداُّل َع َل ی اْلَخ ْی ِر َک َف اِع ِلِه‬

The person guiding (someone) to do a good deed, is like the one performing the good deed.
(Al Arba’in)

19

‫اْلُم ْس ِلُم ِم ْر آُة اْلُم ْس ِلِم‬


A Muslim is a mirror of the Muslim. (Al-Mufrad)

20

‫ُح ُّبَك الَّش ْي َء ُیْع ِم ْي َو ُیِص ُّم‬


Your love of something can blind and deafen (you). (Sunan Abi Dawud)

21

‫ِاذا َج اَءُک ْم َکِر ْی ُم َقْوٍم َفَاْک ِر ُم وُه‬


If the nobleman of a people comes to you, honour him. (Al Arba’in)

‫َو ُتِغ يُثوا اْلَم ْل ُه وَف َو َتْه ُدوا الَّض اَّل‬

Help the oppressed (sorrowful) and guide those who have lost their way. (Sunan Abi Dawud)

‫َي ا َم ْع َش َر الَّش َب اِب َم ِن اْس َتَط اَع ِم ْنُك ُم اْلَب اَءَة َفْل َي َتَز َّو ْج َفِإ َّنُه َأَغ ُّض ِلْل َب َص ِر َو َأْح َص ُن ِلْل َف ْرِج ‏‏‬

O young men, whoever of you is able to do so, let him get married, for it will lower the gaze and
preserve chastity. (Sunan An-Nisa’i )

24

‫َي ا ُغ لَاُم َس ِّم الّٰلَه َو ُك ْل ِبَي ِم يِنَك َو ُك ْل ِم َّم ا َي ِليَك ‏‏‬


Listen my child! Say the name of Allah, eat with your right hand, and eat from that which is in
front of you. (Muslim)

‫َم ا َش ْي ٌء َأْثَق ُل ِفي ِم يَز اِن اْلُم ْؤ ِم ِن َي ْو َم اْلِق َي اَم ِة ِم ْن ُخ ُلٍق َح َس ٍن َو ِإَّن الّٰلَه َلُيْب ِغ ُض اْلَف اِح َش اْلَب ِذ يَء‬
Nothing is heavier on the believer’s scale on the Day of Judgement than his good character. For
indeed, Allah is angered by the shameless obscene people. (Riyad-as-Salihin)

26

‫ َو ُك ُّلُك ْم َم ْس ُئوٌل َع ْن َر ِع َّيِتِه‬، ‫َألَا ُك ُّلُك ْم َر اٍع‬


Everyone of you is a guardian and is responsible for his charges. (Bukhari)

27

‫َخ ْي ُر ُك ْم َخ ْي ُر ُك ْم ِلَأْه ِلِه َو َأَنا َخ ْي ُر ُك ْم ِلَأْه ِلي‬


The best of you is he who is best in treating his family, and i am best in the treatment of my
family. (Jama’i-al-Tirmidhi)

‫ اَّلِذ ي َي ْأِتي َه ُؤلَاِء ِبَو ْج ٍه َو َه ُؤلَاِء ِبَو ْج ٍه‬، ‫ِاْن َش َّر الَّناِس ُذ و اْلَو ْج َه ْي ِن‬

The worst of all mankind is the double-faced one, who comes to some people with one face and
to others, with another face. (Bukhari)

29

‫ِاَّن َأْب َغ ُض الِّر َج اِل ِإَلى الّٰلِه اْلَا َلُّد اْلَخ ِص ُم‬
The most hated person in the sight of Allah, is the most quarrelsome person. (Muslim)

30

‫ لَا ُيَب اِلي اْلَم ْرُء َم ا َأَخ َذ ِم ْنُه َأِم َن اْلَح لَاِل َأْم ِم َن اْلَح َر اِم‏‬،‫َي ْاِتْي َع َل ى الَّناِس َز َم اٌن‬

A time will come when one will not care how one gains one's money, legally or illegally. (Bukhari)

31

‫َأْو ِلْم َو َلْو ِبَش اٍة‬

Give a wedding banquet, (Walima) even with one sheep. (Bukhari)

32

‫َخ ْي ُر ُك ْم َمْن َتَع َّلَم اْلُق ْر آَن َو َع َّلَم ُه‬


The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it. (Muslim)

33

‫ِئ‬
‫ َو ُفُّك وا اْلَع اِنَي‬، ‫ َو ُعوُد وا اْلَم ِر يَض‬، ‫َأْطِع ُم وا اْلَج ا َع‬
Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives. (Muslim)

‫اْكَل ُف ْو ا ِم َن اْلَع َم ِل َم ا ُتِط ْي ُق ْو َن َفِاَّن َخ ْي َر اْلَع َم ِل َاْد َو ُم ُه َو ِاْن َقَّل‬


Take on only as much as you can do of good deeds, for the best deeds are done consistently,
even if it is little. (Sunan Ibn-Majah)

35

‫ َثِق يَل َتاِن ِفي اْلِم يَز اِن‬، ‫ َخ ِف يَف َتاِن َع َل ى الِّلَس اِن‬، ‫َك ِلَم َتاِن َح ِبيَب َتاِن ِإَلى الَّر ْح ٰمِن‬
‫ ُس ْب َح اَن الّٰلِه اْلَع ِظ يِم‬، ‫ُس ْب َح اَن الّٰلِه َو ِبَح ْم ِدِه‬
There are two expressions which are very dear to Allah, the Gracious. They are light on the
tongue (easy to say) , but are very heavy in the scales (of Allah). Those are: “Holy is Allah and
worthy of all praise; Holy is Allah, the Great. (Bukhari)

36

‫اْنُص ْر َاَخ اَك َظ ِلًم ا َاْو َم ْظ ُلْوًم ا‬


Help your brother whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed. (Bukhari)

37

‫َم ا َأْس َك َر َك ِثيُر ُه َفَق ِليُلُه َح َر اٌم‬

If a large amount of anything causes intoxication, a small amount of it is prohibited. (Dawud)

38

‫َمْن َتَش َّبَه ِبَق ْوٍم َفُه َو ِم ْنُه ْم ‏‬


Whoso imitates another people (leaving the way and tradition of his own community and people)
will be considered one of them. (Dawud)

‫ َو َلِكِن اْلِم ْس ِكيُن اَّلِذ ي َلْي َس َلُه ِغ ًنى َو َيْس َتْح ِيي َأْو‬، ‫َلْي َس اْلِم ْس ِكيُن اَّلِذ ي َتُر ُّد ُه الُا ْكَل ُة َو الُا ْكَل َتاِن‬
‫َلا َيْس َأُل الَّناَس ِإْلَح اًفا‬
The poor person is not the one who asks a morsel or two (of meals) from the others, but the poor
is the one who has nothing and is ashamed to beg from others. (Bukhari)

‫ِإَّياُك ْم َو اْلَخ ِلَف ِفي اْلَب ْي ِع َفِاَّنُه ُيَنِّف ُق ُثَّم َي ْم َح ُق‬


Beware of swearing oaths when selling, for it may help you to make a sale but it destroys the
blessing. (Sunan Ibn Majah)

Top three will qualify onward from local and regional competitions.
Recitation must be from the assigned poems (participants have to
choose one of the assigned poems, also provided in this booklet).
Three couplets, including the first, must be presented.
Participants can be stopped anytime during the recitation.

Rubric and Marking


Pronunciation (10 points)
This refers to the correct pronunciation of the Urdu words, paying close
attention to the ‘Zer’ ‘Zabar’ and ‘Pesh’ articulations.

Voice Control (10 points)


Marks will be given for the ability to control and articulate the voice
through volume and intensity.

Melody (10 points)


This refers to the overall tune and melody of the recitation and articulation
of the voice at appropriate moments. The tune should also reflect the
message of the poem if possible.

RULES & REGULATIONS
The essay writing competition is open to all Khuddam in Canada.
Essays can be written in English, French or Urdu. However, a Khadim may
submit an essay in only one language.
The essay should be an author’s own original work.
Essays should be between 1200 to 1500 words.
Prepositions are not included in the word count.
Essays in English and French should be typed. Essays in Urdu may be
handwritten.

Essays should be fully referenced:

i) Referencing does not only apply to quotes but also applies to any ideas or
arguments taken from other sources.

ii) APA or MLA style referencing should be used which include:

a) Title of work (book, article, etc.)


b) Author: Surname and initials
c) Year of publication
d) Publisher
e) Country/City of publication
f) In the case of scripture, state the chapter and verse or equivalent thereof.

The first page of the essay should be the title page and should include
the author’s full name, member code, Majlis, email and postal address
and a contact telephone number.
Essays should be submitted to local Nazim Ta`lim or Qa’id Majlis.
Decision of the judges will be final.

Competitions will be held at the Local, Regional,
and National Ijtima’at.
At the local Ijtima’ Hizb level teams will compete
against each other.
At the Regional Ijtima’, Majalis level teams will
compete against each other.
The top two teams in the Regional Ijtima will
qualify to compete in the National Ijtima’. Teams
will choose either Urdu or English as their
medium.
Team members may not exceed the limit of 5.
The message will be read three times to the first
member.
The team must try to preserve the message in its
original state as much as possible.
The last team member will write down the
message passed onto him within a 2 minute limit
after which the written message must be
submitted to the judges.

Bait Bazi competition will be held at both the Regional &
National Ijtima`at.
At the Regional Ijtima`, Majalis teams of 2 members will
participate in the competition.
Top 2 teams at the Regional Ijtima` will qualify for the
National Ijtima`.
Verses from the following books will be allowed during
the competition:
Durre Sameen
Kalam Mahmood
Kalam Tahir
Durre Adan
Judges will start the competition by reciting a couplet.
Each team will have to recite a couplet starting with the
same letter at which the couplet recited by the team
before them has ended.
Each team will have up to 15 seconds to start reciting
the couplet on their turn. If they fail to start reciting it
within 15 seconds, the team will be eliminated.
If a team has recited a couplet incorrectly, they will
have up to 15 seconds to correct it. However, this will
only be allowed twice before the team is eliminated.

Khuddam will be sent to each of these stations in
batches of no more than 5.
Each participant will have 1 minute to observe the
station and 30 seconds to complete the questions
