Formation Window
The Formation WindowThis name is derived from text in British English. is an interface in Four Swords Adventures.[1]
Overview
The Formation Window allows the player to choose a Formation. Pressing the L Button or Y Button causes it to appear over the player's leading Link. The player can cycle through the available Formations by tilting left or right on the Nintendo GameCube Controller, or the Control Pad if using a Game Boy Advance. A Formation is selected with the A Button. The C Stick on the Nintendo GameCube Controller can be used to quickly change Formation without bringing up the Formation Window.
In a Two-Player Game, the Formation Window contains only the Wide and Long Formations, as the players each control only two Links and the other Formations require four. In a Three-Player Game, only P2 controls two Links and can thus use the Formation Window. When a player controls only one Link and cannot access the Formation Window, pressing the L or Y Button instead magnifies the player's Link on the screen.
