A Stream of Support
We are fortunate that so many aspiring soldiers have come to our aid from many different settlements. The guards' chamber is so crowded now that the sound of clashing swords seems unending... I, too, must contribute as best I can during these times.

The Guards' Chamber is a multi-leveled room on the western side of Hyrule Castle. It is situated beneath the First Gatehouse. The top floor of the Guards' Chamber is split into two sections, with the southeastern portion serving as entry and exit points and the northwestern segment being used for storage. The southeastern side features a Floor Switch near the entrance, which can be held down to release a wooden portcullis leading to a small courtyard on the southwestern side of the Castle. The northwestern side of the top floor of the Guards' Chamber is inaccessible by foot as the stairway from the middle floor has broken, though Link can climb the walls to reach it.

The middle floor of the Guards' Chamber is the most spacious, featuring the remains of several wooden dummies and archery targets, as well as a small cluster of Bomb Barrels scattered around the floor. Loosely-rigged shelves along the northern wall of this floor also hold multiple Bomb Barrels, and a long, metal slab can be used to cross the gap on the northwestern stairs. A Campfire sits beneath these shelves, placed evenly between two stationary Torches. The stone stairs on this level have an alcove underneath them that is covered by dead leaves.

The bottom floor of the Guards' Chamber holds a small sparring square. Near the square are three knight statues, all of which hold Weapons. Three Wooden Boxes hide a small alcove underneath the second stone staircase.

During the "EX Royal Guard Rumors" Side Quest, which is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad Downloadable Content Pack, Link must read Super Rumor Mill V4, which mentions that part of the equipment used by the Royal Guard is hidden in the Guards' Chamber.[3]

Tears of the Kingdom

As in Breath of the Wild, the Guards' Chamber is connected to the Hyrule Castle Corridors and Hyrule Castle Courtyard in Hyrule Field. It is one of the parts of Hyrule Castle that was not lifted into the Sky during the Upheaval.

  3. From the moment I wake to the moment I sleep, my mind is full of rumors. Even my dreams are gossipy! Traysi here! You fine folks keep up with dream rumors too, don't you?

Well, this one's so good it might as well be a dream. Listen up, history buffs!

This tidbit is about the brave soldiers who were tragically wiped out during the Great Calamity. The royal guards who protected the royal family!

Amongst Hyrule's soldiers, only the best of the best had the honor of guarding the royal family. Apparently, the equipment they wore can still be found somewhere in Hyrule Castle. They say a former maid spoke of treasure near the Dining Hall, in the Guards' Chamber, and on the second floor. I do hope one day Hyrule Castle is restored to its former glory, complete with royal guards. Hmm... I wonder when a royal guard in shining armor will come sweep me off MY feet...
