Biography

The Mysterious Construct is a Construct Warrior capable of transforming and utilizing Zonai Devices to fly through the Sky.[7] He belongs to a class of Construct that led to the destruction of the Zonai.[8] As a result of the Constructs going berserk and retaliating against the ancient Zonai, the remaining Constructs of its class were sealed away in the Depths beneath Tobio's Hollow.

While the Korok Calamo was exploring the Depths, he found the Knight Construct stationed in a slab. Nearby, Calamo found a shard of the Master Sword which Zelda unwittingly transported back in time along with herself. As Calamo picks the shard up, it is magically carried to the core of the Knight Construct,[9] awakening him and giving him a purpose to seek out and defeat evil.

The Knight Construct appears to wield a Zonaite Sword in his right hand and a Zonaite Shield seems to be mounted on his left forearm as a form of bracer. He wear a scarf reminiscent of Mineru, Rauru, and Calamo's attire, with clothing reminiscent of the Archaic Tunic.

After Sonia's death, the Knight Construct begins to travel and help repel Demon King Ganondorf's army. Upon learning of the Knight Construct's presence, Demon King Ganondorf sends a Phantom Ganon puppet disguised as Zelda into the Depths beneath Tobio's Hollow to possess one of his counterparts. However, as the newly-awakened Forbidden Construct has a will of its own, it proceeds to destroy the remaining Constructs near it and hunt the Knight Construct.

Because of the Knight Construct's heroism, he quickly becomes a beloved hero among the survivors of the Imprisoning War.[5]

While Rauru and the Six Sages lure Demon King Ganondorf into the Depths to end the Imprisoning War, the Knight Construct remains behind to repel the Demon King's Army.[3] Though the Construct is able to defeat Grimgibdo, she attacks the Construct's core in a final act of desperation. This considerably weakens the Knight Construct, causing him to collapse. However, the Knight Construct reawakens to battle the Forbidden Construct. Throughout this battle, the Constructs head southwest to Mount Daphnes where they make their final stand.

With Calamo's help, the Knight Construct is able to destroy the Forbidden Construct using a projection of the Master Sword, saving the people of Hyrule from its wrath. However, he is fatally wounded in the process and the shard of the Master Sword at his core shatters, causing him to fall apart. Heartbroken, Calamo decides to make his home on the battlefield where they fought together, placing the remains of the Knight Construct at his base as he transforms into a Tree.

In the aftermath of the Imprisoning War, Zelda and Lenalia agree to redact any information of the Knight Construct from official records in fear of any remaining Forbidden Constructs being found and used for evil purposes. As the Light Dragon flies overhead, Lenalia visits Calamo's Tree and burns her notes and sketches containing any depictions of the Construct.

Trivia

  • Taking into account the timeline of events according to Age of Imprisonment, the Knight Construct was Calamo's traveling companion for around six to seven months after being awakened.

  8. Apparently constructs like you brought ruin—the end of my people. While I'm certain you can't possess a soul... I must admit, your disposition appears to be rather different from that of the other construct. Almost confusingly so. It seems you can be used for good or evil. Just like the secret stones. A power that great tests the very depths of its bearer's soul. There is danger here. Enormously so. And what of me? Is my soul a good one? — Rauru (Age of Imprisonment)
  9. Zelda. Regarding the Knight Construct's core...you mentioned that it's a shard of your Master Sword—correct? — Rauru (Age of Imprisonment)
Yes. — Zelda (Age of Imprisonment)
It's incredible the power a mere fragment can contain. Yet the swordsman—Link, you said—wielded it for good. Defended Hyrule with the sacred blade in hand. It would seem...he's a powerful ally indeed. — Rauru (Age of Imprisonment)
He is. Link's name is known far and wide, back in my own time. He's the greatest hero Hyrule has. — Zelda (Age of Imprisonment)
