How does the game fit the theme?
In the game, you have to make the decision to either spend your money on upgrades or risk saving it to have a higher score. The combat itself plays like the board game Risk, and the currency/score you are trying to obtain are (American) biscuits.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All of the assets are made by other people. All of the code was written from scratch.
How many people worked on the game?3

Quite fun game. I wish you could've somehow controlled the rolls, as I predicted the bad RNG hitting me more or less. The other characters in the screenshots look interesting, shame I didn't get far enough to try them.
Well done!
Uh, awesome visuals and audio. Feels very polished! The character sprites were amazing. I just wish there was a little more variety on the upgrades :)
Nice little game, and, despite being really simple, it's strangely addictive, good job ^^ !
I gotta be the most unlucky MF in the world. Because even after over a dozen attempts I was not able to get past the second wave ( well, I passed it once with a revive just to die immediately after )
:U
Mayhaps the odds could be a bit more in the player's favour.
I risked it for 21 biscuits. It was really fun, very simple mechanic but still entertaining. Good work!
love the sprite designs! replayed after i died to see more of them. Love the buying strategy mechanic. simple and enjoyable
Lol I made a dice battle game as well, really like the look and the music :)
Is there an end? I like it a lot, maybe could have different dices on a future update.
it's kinda addictive, i liked the concept (I gave up on nearly 700 cookies btw). with more polish this is a complete game actually.
Loved the replayability and the artwork! Adorable and fun little rpg!
Really well scoped for a jam, it's nice to have a complete game. I also liked the juice on rolling the dice and the shop choices were interesting for replayability.
One thing is for the combat I ended up just spamming "roll" and watching the hp bars. An idea to explore could be to show your roll first, or hide one of the dice on each roll, and have an opportunity to bet hp for more coins. Or to highlight which dice won against which other dice maybe just by coloring winning dice green and losing dice red. Reroll as a resource could be interesting as well.
Overall I enjoyed it and thought it fit the theme well!
Thanks for the feedback! I think you're right that a reroll mechanic could have been good. There was meant to be more depth to the rolling but we didn't have time -- this would have been a nice quick thing we could have done.
Nice stuff! I think this game is a small amount of polish from being really great. Would love to either make it an auto-roller, or make each enemy type offer some form of unique ability to your rolls or their own. Add in some temporary items and you have a perfect game. Thank you for sharing this!
Like how you took the time to implement a shop. Really enjoyed it. Pixel games will always have a soft spot for me, I like them so much. Good job.
Very fun! Loved the art, looked great. Felt very complete. I risked it for precisely 65 biscuits. Great job!
Cool game loop, I liked the dice animations and the large pool of enemies. It looked really polished.
Feedback: More options in the shop would be cool, I found myself buying all the safe options at the beginning. Also, maybe enemies can flash red when they get hit.
Thanks for the feedback! In the original design, you were going to be able to buy different dice with special effects but we didn't have time. Which is why the shop is a bit lacking on options lol
Fun and simple artstyle ! Nice game, congrats
Nice Game!
I found the information at the start confusing, so I forgot about it and only hit the roll button for my playthrough. I bumped up my gameplay rating from what I felt like, since I thought my adhd ahh experience wasn't representative. HOWEVER! This game looks really sick! The general feel of the game was really standout. I think it felt like the most responsive game in this jam so far (that I've played).
I love the artstyle! it looks very cute, the music is pretty good too. The gameplay starts off hard, but becomes easy quick and then hard again! I think it would be cool to have a little more control on the outcome, but I think it is good enough right now. I ended up getting 2000 coins before I gave up!
