I was invested! Nice game, I love the idea of using cards to earn souls to buy more monsters to defeat this beast of a player- I got him to 77 health before he escaped!

Hey, no I really enjoy this kind of discussion--I think it really helps me understand how to make my games better, maybe change my perspective on things. I definitely didn't find this to be critical whatsoever, I completely understand where you're coming from. Thanks for your reply! I definitely agree that I should've added some sort of indication to allow for the player (boss) to understand the cooldown.
Thanks for the feedback! I do have a couple things: firstly, if the user were to be able to use the shield while shooting, it would decrease the challenge drastically. Secondly, all you have to do in order to shoot immediately after the shield deactivates is to keep holding the mouse down- it just takes a second (intentionally for more challenge). The shield is most often useful nearing the end of the wave, as more of a last-minute protection, but with more skillful timing it works mid-wave too. I'm glad you like the game though!
Fun game! Got me fired to go quicker. I wish there was more to the visuals- maybe a scene to a nuclear reactor blowing up or something, or even a character going in and out as if doing tasks in a world of reactors. Maybe a bit more organization for the elements of the task instead of random locations? The sound effect for the blowtorch would also play forever when I lost. Otherwise, really cool concept, and I think this game has great potential for really cool updates! Nice job.
What a hilarious, cute, and fun concept! I love the game. I was able to kill the 'good guy boss' without getting to the $800 upgrade, as I was able to spread the spawners around, then pile them at one corner, where only 2-4 turrets would be defending while the others would be occupied. If I had to say one thing, it would be the desire for crazier obstacles, harder turrets, and more money for faster upgrades (you know how attention spans can be). I wish there was more!! Honestly graphics are super cute, and I love the retro-isometric-3D style. Nice work.
Made it through 49 turns! It seems like the liberationists get quite hasty at some point, but who knows. Honestly love the concept, dark humor, and the glaze for Oppressia. Maybe some sound effects that tie to the text and some more imagery would add to the entertainment and attention-keep of the game. I'm happy to read, but some people might not be. Otherwise, super cool game and the music is so fitting! Well done. P.S. there is certainly humor, but it would be hilarious to add some small, rare bits of text saying things like "you beat your right hand man into submission, + 5 money". I might be laughing at bad things tho lol...
Thank you! I'm not sure what might have been happening to the attacks, it's possible there might be some tick issues with calling on and off different weapons in order to limit only one weapon in use all times, but not sure. And yet you still beat the game!! Very impressive, I'm so glad you were able to work with the mechanics.
Yes- when I dodged the figures, through the first bit of dialogue, not shooting anyone, the text still said, "Subject 5.0 (or something) shows no remorse." I assumed 'subject 5.0' was me in this comatose world, shooting my guilt shadows to death... but is the text referencing something else? This is the same for the ending dialogue; does it reference the real me's dirty work as if a news report?
I love the concept SO MUCH. Super cool. I really wish there was more though. I played ring around the rosie while shooting the figures, and when I made it to the end, I expected something. Something that I could see from the beginning level, but alas, nothing. Also, I noticed all of the texts/console inputs are the same, even when I did show remorse, and even when I made it to the end without killing anybody. Are they referencing real life instead of the coma? Besides this, I think this game has so so much potential, and I really hope you continue working on this and polishing it! Nice work.
Thank you for playing!!! It is certainly very tricky to win - you have to be at the very least 31% health going into stage 10... even I have difficulty! Maybe the shield was bugging for you? I think sometimes after shooting the guns the shield might bug and you have to press S another time, but not sure.
Absolute FIRE!!! I love the art so so much!! The beginning credits were stretched for me for some reason, but the game was super cool! I love the concept. Unfortunately, there were times where I wanted to get to the edge, but I would go back to the beginning before I reached the far right. Maybe instead the player should stop at the edges? Also, I don't quite get how this fits the limitation. Other than that, super super cool, I love the music and art. Great job!! XD
I see the vision!! XPPP
This concept is so cool, and this game has so much potential!! I love the idea that I am attacking myself in this paradoxical card game, and I really wanted more! Needs a lot of polish, but with a bit more time it'll be perfect. Great concept, and art is also great- I love 1 bit.
So cuuute this is prob the longest game I've played in this jam so far- it felt so satisfying to attack cells and duplicate. In fact, I did make it to the end of the evolution, so commitment, but wish there was like a final or reward. Also wish there was music. Other than that, super well done, this has so much potential if you guys continue to work on this game.
Suuper cool art! I love the old TV screen overlay, and the neon glow. It was tricky to find the anomaly that was slightly brighter.... took me 3 tries. It's a great concept tho! I think in some way you could find yourself being a better person removing of what might have a chance of possibly harming the others, but I see the idea. Really nice job, great concept!
PS amazing how you made this with js.
