"When Great Sales Meet the Rush to Board" I was boarding a flight recently and stopped by one of the airport stores. The setup was great, the products were impressive, and you could tell travelers were ready to buy. But as boarding time got closer and the lines grew longer, the mood changed. People started checking their watches, putting items back, and some just walked away. Not because they didn’t want to buy, but because they didn’t have the time to wait. In travel retail, those few minutes between wanting something and needing to board make all the difference. When checkout slows down, the sale often disappears. That’s exactly where MishiPay mPOS helps. It allows store staff to assist passengers anywhere in the store, complete the purchase instantly, and even verify the boarding pass on the spot. It’s not just about faster checkout. It’s about removing friction and helping both travelers and retailers make the most of every moment before takeoff. When operations move at the pace of travel, good days easily turn into record ones. #Airport #Retail #mPOS #RetailTechnology #CustomerExperience #MishiPay

🚚 Same-Day Delivery Is Becoming the New Standard Customer expectations are shifting fast. Businesses and individuals now expect urgent deliveries to be same-day, not next week. From my role at Destiny Couriers Sameday, I see three big drivers: 📦 E-commerce growth 🏥 Business-critical sectors (legal, medical, manufacturing) 📲 Technology enabling real-time tracking & faster routes Same-day is no longer a “premium extra” - it’s becoming the baseline. Courier companies must adapt, or risk being left behind. 👉 Do you see this shift in your industry? #CourierIndustry #SameDayDelivery #Logistics

We recently showed how SwipBox Infinity parcel lockers make shopping at Irish airports stress-free for travellers. But the airport use case is just one way to use our click & collect lockers. Retailers can also use them as a regular alternative for their customers, allowing them to pick up their orders not just outside opening hours, but whenever it suits them – quickly and without having to queue. This gives customers more flexibility and saves them time, while also helping retailers: ⏱️ Free up staff time 📦 Free up storage space 🛍️ Gain more customers by offering out-of-hours order pickups With SwipBox Infinity, click & collect becomes simpler, faster and more convenient – for both customers and retailers.

Airlines are racing toward Offer, Order, Settle, Deliver (OOSD), the single-order retail model that replaces legacy ticketing with modern ecommerce experiences. But while airlines are rethinking how they sell, many haven’t yet rethought how they get paid. The industry still lacks the advanced payment capabilities needed to support the complexity of modern retailing. The promise of OOSD, with its dynamic pricing, real-time offers, and higher yields, will remain incomplete without a stronger foundation for payments. That’s where One Source Orchestration (OSO) comes in. It’s the payments control plane built for travel, embedding orchestration and optimisation directly into OOSD so every order can be priced, paid, and processed in one flow. This is how airlines move from promise to delivery, and beyond. ✈️ Read the full piece by Steven Osei: The Journey to Travel’s New Retailing Model https://lnkd.in/ePPJFv6w #PaymentOrchestration #TravelCommerce #AirlineRetailing #Payments

Rail passengers have made more than 1.4 million journeys using the Transport for Wales Pay As You Go ticketing system supported by Unicard technology. Transport for Wales (TfW) was the first train operator on the heavy rail network outside of London to launch a contactless EMV (cEMV) PAYG system. The project was completed in November 2024 and the tap in, tap out technology is now live at 95 railway stations across South-East Wales. The TfW PAYG scheme has grown rapidly since launch and the latest figures for September 2025 show that more than 1.4 million rail trips have now been made. The scheme has also attracted more than 206,000 unique PAYG users since its launch. Unicard supplied TfW with our Ticketing Hub to enable cEMV services, which means travellers do not have to pre-purchase a paper or digital ticket for their journey. Instead, they can use a payment card or mobile device to tap in and out on ticket barriers at the start and end of every train journey. The last mile: the bit everyone forgets… until the parcel doesn’t show up. TMS platforms are brilliant at moving freight across continents, optimising loads, and squeezing every drop of efficiency from long-haul routes. But here’s the catch: all that clever optimisation means nothing if the final delivery falls flat. Think of it like building Wembley Stadium… and forgetting to add the turnstiles. That’s why the future of TMS has to be about more than trucks and terminals. It has to include the last mile-the part your customer actually sees. The tech that cracks long-haul + last mile, all in one system? That’s the real game-changer in logistics SaaS. Because in the end, no one remembers how efficiently their parcel got to the depot… they just remember if it made it to the front door. #Logistics #TMS #LastMile #SupplyChainTech #Delivery

As I was riding in a bus transfer to the airport one thing kept me wondering: what is it with our obsession for #efficiency? Don't get me wrong, I am all for using the minimum of resources to achieve a task satisfactorily ... but we seemingly ignore the cost of efficiency. What I mean by that is that most of the recent strides towards efficiency mean that costs or efforts are #externalised to someone else. Think of a customer interacting with a self service kiosk at the fastfood store. They spend more of their own time ordering than they would be by placing an order with a wait staff, or they need to interact with a "smart" customer service agent that is a chatbot and only agitates and annoys a #customer, or in my case with the transport that takes much longer than it could. They take my precious vacation time to cart as many people as possible at the least cost to the airport. That is some sort of routing optimization. My waiting time does not matter for much. There could be #smarter ways that would only need a bit more coordination at the backend such as a hub-and-spoke system with smaller and larger vehicles and central pickup points. It would not require any fancy data integration or something similar, but just another refined #algorithm that takes into account to whom we owe time and how this could be valued #fairly. Disregarding the frustration, time wasted, or bringing your own stuff could eventually backfire if we just consider our own sphere of influence (too narrowly) when it comes to efficiency gains and lose track of the full picture
