A. Content Standard The child demonstrates an understanding of letter
representation of sounds--that letters as symbols
have names and distinct sounds.
B. Performance Standard The child shall be able to identify the letter names
and sounds.
C. Learning Competencies Identify and describe the four basic shapes,
Relate the shapes to the objects around you; and
To give at least 3 examples of different objects
corresponds by its shapes.

A. Preparatory Activities: Everybody, please stand for a prayer.
(Teacher will lead the prayer and pupils follow as

Our father, we thank you for this wonderful
day that you have given to us. Thank you for the
blessings of life. Lord Jesus, we pray that as we
continue our lesson today, we may be able to learn
and penetrate it our hearts. This is all we pray in

1. Presenting Examples/Instances of the New Okay class, our lesson for today is all about “ The
Lesson four basic shapes “ , but before that I will read you
a poem entitled “ The Shape of Things”.

“ The Shape of Things “
What is circle? What is round?
A quarter rolling on the ground.
A wheel is a circle, so is the moon
A bottle cap or a big balloon.
What is square? With side the same?
The wooden board for a checker game.
A slice cheese, a TV screen
A table napkin to keep you clean.
What is rectangle? Straight or tall?
The door that stands within your wall.
A dollar bill, a loaf of bread,
The mattress lying on your bed.
What is triangle? With side of three?
A piece of pie for you and me.
A musical triangle, ding, ding, ding
A slice of pizza with everything.
These are the shapes seen everywhere.
A triangle, rectangle, circle and square.
If you look closely where you’ve been,
You’ll surely see the shapes you’re in!

Skills in Daily Living important and worthy. Value has to do with how
much something is worth, whither in terms of cash
or importance and even in shape.
