Internship Opportunity Projects
Problem 1
The competition set of Aurolab products includes MNCs & Indian brands. The imported brands have
greater command in the market and Indian companies like Appasamy, Biotech and Care Group have
sizeable market share and are strong in their relationship management activity (CRM). The quality of
the Aurolab IOLs is good & comparable to the imported IOLs. However, Aurolab has not been able to
build on its perception of quality as compared to the imported IOLs and market share gain remains a
concern.
The Problem: In the gamut of the business involving imported and Indian lenses what should be the
strategy & positioning of Aurolab in the IOL segment
Problem 2
The Background- Aurolab distributes its products through super stockiest who in turn caters to the
orders from the customers
The Problem – The current distribution arrangement is posing serious concerns on adequate
inventory management which is leading to poor product availability.
What should be the distribution model for Aurolab to overcome demand & supply adequacy?
Problem 3
Aurolab is very closely associated with the Aravind Eye Care System. More than 3000+ surgeons
have been trained at Aravind over the years. Many of them would have certainly used Aurolab
products while at Aurolab.
The Problem – How can Aurolab tap into this pool of Aravind Alumni effectively. What is it we can
offer to them and build an effective customer engagement strategy for this segment of customers
Problem 4
The biggest chunk of Aurolab’s business in domestic markets happens through our dealer network.
Many of the dealers have been legacy dealers and have been with the organization for over 25 years.
Some have been on boarded more recently.
Problem: Identify the measurement criteria for the dealers performance. Set up a monitoring
mechanism for tracking the dealer performance. Also how can Aurolab engage with the dealers to
keep them aligned and motivated to deliver for Aurolab.
Problem 5
Aurolab reaches out to 160 countries worldwide through a network of 60+ international distributors.
How do we track and measure their performance? What should be the criteria? How can we build
some early warning systems in case of loss of business etc.,
Problem 6
Digital Marketing
Aurolab is based out of Madurai, T.N. How should we build our corporate image that will attract
engineering and marketing talent to Madurai.
How can Aurolab use Digital Marketing to influence patients in a B2B context.
Problem 7
Data Analytics
Aurolab has implemented Salesforce for sales force effectiveness.
What are the ways in which they use this to improve their analytics and decision making?
Problem 8
New Product
Market study for a product under development. The project team is expected to do a thorough market
survey and recommend the launch strategy for the product ( Medical Equipment).
Problem 9
Study the current employee engagement levels at corporate office and sales teams. Recommend
innovative employee engagement program that will increase the satisfaction of employees and
improve retention level.
Problem 10
AI and allied subjects are being adopted by organisations aggressively.
What are all the areas in which Aurolab can adopt AI to gain speed to market and competitive
advantage

Study the impact of TPM in Aurolab operational performance – and suggest other CI tools that
can be implemented for better performance.
