MECHATRONIC DRAWING

Resumen
The V8 engine is a V engine with eight cylinders mounted in a block.
engine in two banks of four cylinders, in most cases fixed to
a right angle to each other but sometimes at a narrower angle, with
the eight pistons share a common crankshaft.

In its simplest form, it is basically two straight-4 engines that

they share a common crankshaft field. However, this configuration
simple, with a single-plane crankshaft, has the same imbalance
dynamic secondary problems like two straight-4s, assuming
result of annoying vibrations in large dislocations of the engine.
Consequently, since the 1920s the majority of V8s have
used the somewhat more complex crossplane crankshaft with heavy
counterweights to eliminate vibrations. This results in a motor that
be smoother than a V6, while being significantly less
expensive than a V12 engine. Competing with V8s continue to use the
flat single crankshaft because they allow for faster acceleration, a
they design a more efficient exhaust device, and a "better acoustic quality"
throatier.

2. Introduction:
A V8 engine is an engine with two blocks of four cylinders, which
they share a crankshaft, forming a 'V'. It is a very configuration.
habitual for large-sized cars and cargo vehicles. Its
cylindrical ranges between 3.0 and 9.0 liters. The angle between blocks more
common is that of 90. This configuration gives you a wide engine and
low in dimensions.[CITATION Mar p 65 l 10250 ]

It also has a very common configuration for trucks,

large-sized cars and in the so-called 'muscle cars'. Their
displacement is rarely less than 3.0L and has reached
approach 9.0L.
In many categories of motorsport competition, especially in
United States, this type of engines are common, they are used in
theIn Real Lifey NASCAR. TheFormula Onethe 2006 season began
using 2.4 L V8 naturally aspirated engines, replacing the V10 engines
of 3.0 L, in a decision aimed at reducing the power of the
automobiles.
The V8 engine has served as the main engine for cars.
Americans since the Ford Motor Company developed the
revolutionary flat V8 cylinder engine for your Ford coupe
1932. Since then, Chevrolet has produced millions of V8s
large and small blocks, including the standard of all
engines, while Chrysler perfected the v8 engines version
from Hemi to create more of their power cars.

3. Issue:
How can we design parts of a V8 Engine to observe
if the measurements fit correctly?

4. Objectives:

4.1. General Objective:

Recreate the dimensional model of a V8 engine, using the

Autodesk Inventor software.
Observe the operation of a V8 engine in a simulated way
the real and its important use for automobiles.

4.2. Specific Objective:

Build the structures and understand the importance of angles

in the formation of a lightweight and resistant structure.
Use manual and automatic tools to machine the
V8 engine parts.

justification
The following project will be carried out with the aim of observing the
composition of the V8 engine and how important it has been since past years
up to the present. In addition to the use of software tools
Inventor as the main part that was taken to carry it out.

6.1. Basic concepts and definitions:

Inventor tools: 3D:

6.2. Theoretical framework:

V8 Engine:
A V8 engine is an internal combustion engine that has eight
cylinders, where the explosions that move the
eight pistons, which in turn rotate the crankshaft and move the
vehicle forward. Having eight cylinders, instead of
four, each piston can consume less fuel to
obtain the same amount of power as a four-cylinder engine
cylinders, which provides a smoother ride with wear
minor.
A V8 engine (which is actually two four-cylinder engines)
cylinders in line that share a single crankshaft) always
is reasonably balanced (...). The feeling and the figure
what a V8 engine transmits depends to a certain extent on the
design of its crankshaft, that is, of the bearings of the
the heads of the rods are in a single plane, or in two, at an angle
recto. Thus the "ideal" angle between the benches of the blocks
of a V8 engine cylinders to minimize the effect of
secondary imbalance is 90 degrees.[CITATION Dan05

Cylinder
The most distinctive feature of a V8 engine is its cylinders.
The cylinders are the part of the engine where the pistons are located.
The cylinders are filled with a mixture of air and gasoline
vaporized and then they explode, which pushes the pistons towards
down, against the crankshaft. The V8 engine has eight cylinders, which
it means that each one has to light up once for each
quarter turn of the crankshaft.

Pistons:
The pistons move the vehicle by converting thermal energy from the
combustible into mechanical energy. How the V8 engine has eight

cylinders, also has eight pistons, and each one rotates the
crankshaft a quarter turn. It is also important to note the
origin of the term "V8". The "V" refers to the orientation and the
position of the cylinders, divided into pairs and opposite each other,
in the shape of a 'V'.

Crankshaft and connecting rods:

The crankshaft is where the energy from each piston is transferred.
The connecting rods connect the pistons to the crankshaft. Every time a
the cylinder explodes, the piston rotates the crankshaft a quarter of
return, through the connecting rod. The crankshaft is, therefore, the link
between the brute force of the pistons and the applied energy of the
vehicle movement; it is the component that converts the
energy in functionality.

Monoblock:
The block del motor engine of
cylinders or monoblock is a piece fused
inironoaluminumthat houses thecylindersof aengine
internal combustion just like the support supports of thecrankshaft.
The diameter of the cylinders, along with the piston stroke,
determine thecubic capacityof the motor.

Valves:
It is avalvewhich consists of a hole, generally round
an oval, and a conical stopper, usually in the shape of a disc,
placed at the end of a rod, also called "stem"
of the valve." The stem guides the valve through aguideline of
the valveIt serves both to regulate the flow of an element and
for the all-or-nothing function.

Timing belts:
It is one of the most common methods oftransmissionfrom theenergy
mechanicsbetween a driving gear and another driven gear, through a
mutual toothed system that has both the belt and the
pine nuts, preventing their mutual slipping. It is used very
frequently inOtto and diesel 4-stroke engines between
thecrankshaftand thecamshaft, in engines ofmotorcyclesy
Industrial machinery, in general, is a belt.

7. Conclusions:
In conclusion, using the software from inventor we can design
any object or thing, as is the case with the V8 engine. Of which we
allowed us to observe in detail the parts that make up this machine. And from
this way innovations could be made that improve the machine, for
to achieve better performance.
