that are made from metal. made from metal.
By the end of today’s lesson…
All of us will be able to recognise one metal.
Most of us will understand characteristics of metals.
A few of us will analyse specific metals and their properties.

Brain Dump
What do you already know about metals?
Think about ACCESS FM, what adjectives
would you use to describe materials?
Record your answers in your book.
Remember, if you do not know the
answer it is ok! Try your best!
Metals
Learning Objective: To be able to identify different properties of metals.
Copy this into your book.
There are three different types of metals -
ferrous, non-ferrous and alloys.
Ferrous metals contain iron and are
magnetic.
Non-ferrous metals do not contain iron and
are not magnetic.
Alloys contain two or more metals or other
elements to improve their properties.
