PART A
What is System Software?
System software refers to the programs that help manage and control
computer hardware so that application software can function properly. It
acts as a bridge between hardware and user applications, ensuring smooth
operations.
Role of OS and Utility Program
• It provides a user-friendly interface to interact with the computer.
• The OS is the main system software that manages both hardware and
software resources.
• These are specialized software tools that enhance the OS’s functionality
and help maintain system performance.
• They assist in troubleshooting, optimizing, and managing system
resources.
EXAMPLE
System software, including Operating Systems and
Utility Programs, is essential for a computer’s
functionality. The OS manages overall system
operations, while utilities help keep the system secure
and efficient. Without system software, users wouldn’t
be able to interact with their computers effectively.
PART B
Why AR Glasses Need Both RAM and ROM?
Augmented Reality glasses require both RAM and ROM to function
efficiently. These two types of primary memory serve different purposes,
ensuring smooth performance and proper storage of essential data.
Main Feature of RAM
•Fast and Temporary Storage – Stores data that the processor needs for quick
access.
•Allows Multitasking – Supports running multiple applications smoothly.
•Enhances Performance – More RAM means faster processing speed.
MAIN FEATURE OF ROM AND
EXPLAINATION
Main Features of ROM
• Permanent Storage- Stores Firmware and system software
• Non-Volatile- Retain Data without Power
• Secure and Reliable- Can not be easily modified by user
Explanation
Both RAM and ROM are crucial for AR glasses to operate effectively:
• RAM handles real-time data processing and multitasking
• ROM stores essential software and ensures the device can boot up and
function correctly.
PART C
AI (Artificial Intelligence) enables machines to learn, analyze data, and
make decisions, powering chatbots, self-driving cars, and
recommendation systems. It relies on machine learning and deep
learning to improve over time. In contrast, AR (Augmented Reality)
enhances the real world by overlaying digital elements using cameras and
sensors, seen in AR games (Pokémon GO), filters (Snapchat), and
virtual shopping (IKEA Place). AI processes data, while AR focuses on
real-time visual interaction, but they can work together, like in AI-powered
AR assistants.
PART D
Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence that allows systems to learn from
data and improve over time without being explicitly programmed. It enables machines to
recognize patterns and make predictions or decisions based on those patterns, making
them smarter as they gather more experience.
1.AI Application Example:
Netflix uses machine learning algorithms to analyze viewing habits and predict what
movies or shows a user might enjoy. By learning from a user’s past interactions, it
continuously improves its recommendations, helping users make better decisions on
what to watch next.
2.AR Application Example:
Google Lens uses machine learning to identify objects, landmarks, and text in real-time
when a user points their device’s camera at something. This AR application enhances
decision-making by providing instant information about the object or scene, like
identifying a product, translating text, or giving details about a landmark.
