That’s a very complete review :D

So yes, the problem with many games, is that when you test them as the developer, you will miss some problems you are used to.

For the level design, I made some choices later to save dev time, but sacrificing some of the fun. I hadn’t time to polish the meteorological animations.

For the sound, I am trying to improve my composing skills. (the jump sound is a bug obviously).

Thanks for your detailed returns !

Hello.

Mabye the camera looks strange, but I made it moving ahead of the player to get more playable space (I mean all the space behind you is lost).

Also, I didn’t notice problems with settings during my tests. What’s your browser ?

Thanks for playing.

Thanks for playing.

And yes, I started making the game as a Metroidvania like, but I made some changes later.

I understand what you mean. I made the camera moving ahead the player when it’s moving : it creates a bigger play zone on the screen (because everything behind you is lost in gameplay).

Hello

So yes I used checkpoints to balance the difficulty. I am happy that you liked the music, even if it’s kinda repetitive.

Can you describe the problems with the camera ? It is the pixel-per-pixel slow move that don’t feel smooth ?

Thanks for the returns.

Hi.

I wanted to make the game possible for most of people, but not too easy to add some challenge. I added checkpoints to balance it and make it less frustrating.

Because of a few technical problems, I lacked of time for the transitions and just made a fade-in.

I planned to credit Celeste (an awesome game), I thought I did it but, just noticed I forgot (fixed). Because I'm kinda bad at human character drawing, so I used a model.

Thanks for your returns

The game was really fun !

The gameplay is really good and polished, easy to understand.

I loved the music.

Mabye more level for a post-jam version ?

Cute story ! Was fun, a few sound effects would have been nice.

The music is pretty good (even if a bit repetitive at the end). And your art is basic but fun.

I also didn't knew what rating to give you for Gameplay (as it's a visual novel), so I was generous.

Hello.

Yes, I got a little looping problem with the jump :(

Transitions aren't very polished because I lacked of time.

I hope you hadn't epilepsy or anything like that.

Thanks for playing !

That's the best game I have rated so far for this jam. I love how you integreted the speedrunning (one of my prefered aspect of videogames) aspect directly in the game.

The pixel art is awesome. Your background is simple but looks really good. And I really enjoyed the music.

However, I thought you can let us jumping with W and using arrow keys, because we are all used to a specific control scheme. I also got performance issues : it was loading the level 15 seconds, but everything worked fine while playing.

I wanted to ask : are you a solo dev or a team (and how many persons) ?

A very good game !!!

Hello.

The concept itself is really good, but as you ran out of time, is was kinda hard to exploit the whole potential.

Otherwise, the music don't feels too repetitive (you made a good use of pauses), and graphics were simple but good.

Also, mabye add arrow keys control too (because many ppl use it too, like me).

And the transition :)

The Winter theme is respected. The RPG art looks good and cute. And the music is nice too. However, the SFX aren't very complete.

I love the puzzle gameplay, even if it could be extended and with a bit more levels.

Was fun to play !!!

Hi.

Yes, the ablities make a kind of progression, and you should master them to progress.

For the forest above spikes, I agree it's not really intuitive : you have to press Up while falling on the tree trunk. I hope you passed it.

Because of some last-minute mistakes, the wall jump isn't very polished. For the jump sound, a file compression issue altered the SFX's quality.

And for music, I'm trying to improve my skills in composing as I usually work in solo.

Thanks for your returns.

Hello.

For my last game, people said it was too hard and it seems me I'm the only one who finished it. So yes, checkpoints make it less frustrating.

For the jump sound, it's not a programming problem, I just got a last minute unfortunate file compression problem. So you can disable SFX in options when you have heard everything already.

At beggining, I thought it like a metroidvania, so it was a way to restict some areas, but then, I decided to make the game more lineary.

Thanks for playing

Hello, thanks for playing.

I haven't thought about performance optimization because I thought my game was too small to need that :)

For the tree section, i found the challenge funny as you need to completely master the abilities. You have to press Up while falling on another tree trunk.

Thanks for your return.

Hi, thanks for playing.
This one was my first game jam (and game), and was a very good experience as dev.
And yes, 1-bit always look good, even for someone who isn't a very good artist.

Would be a nice survie game, but :
- there is too much visual bugs after different upgrade
- like said Indee, the gameplay lack of decisions because you can't really do anything useful
- I don't know how I am supposed to die

That's a really good game !!!

I loved the art. It's so good for 1-BIT. Your color palette are nice too.

The perspective and gameplay is interesting. It's funny to memorize where is everything. I enjoyed playing it and discovering every room.

Sometimes, animals are too hard to recognize. Music is not bad.

But, sometimes, the gameplay isn't very understandable. For example, I don't know how do you reach the next level, how the score climbs and how do you lose.

But for a 12h game, it's still good.

The sound effects are so nice :)

I like how the game become harder and harder. The color change is very good. I just don't understand what to do when the snacks all pass by quickly.

Good Work !

Thanks for playing !

Thank you for playing. Music/SFX control is a good suggestion.

This is a nice survival game but :

- The purple squares bug is annoying
- The music can be improved
- Also, mabye make the gun reload faster

It's in the Settings/Options, you can enable Music and SFX

The concept of improving your character for battles is nice, but it's not balanced at all : even with random choices, your statistics will grow much faster than the Goblin.

It would have been much more intersting if there was more strategy. At least, the music is really nice.

The gameplay is nice. The art looks good too. Chill music. It was a nice interpretation of the theme.

After playing, I'm happy... like Pot God

My preffered game of the jam !

The plateformer feels very good. In addition I love speedgames.

The offering system is a very fun idea. Modifiers were interesting (only the "Fast Fall" was too hard).

For the art, the character is so cute and everything is readable.

Awesome Work !!!

The music is in the Christmas theme, really good.

Cookies were too rare, it should be rebalanced.

You found another interesting meaning of the theme. It was really funny to trade $$$ !

It would be better if there was real objectives to reach.

Good Work

Really cute game !

The pictures are so nice even in monochrome.

The concept guides you : you explore the blogs.

It's chill and nice.

Sadly, there isn't music (or I have a bug).

This the game I rated the best.

The music, even if AI is very well integrated. Art is really nice.

You found a really nice idea of gameplay, which totally fits the theme. All scenes are well with a growing difficulty.

The music is really good and I love the art style.

You made every interaction with the villagers and the movement is really smooth.

It's a very fun platformer but I think :
- You should guide the player a bit more because I was lost (after the 1st room) and don't finished it (I want to).
- Make the solid and deco tiles more readable (I know it's hard in 1-bit)

Thanks for your rating.

I wasn't really inspired for the music, but I guess I did something nice for the last level.

For the "offering" theme, it's the gifts collected (I hadn't time to implement everything).

I'm happy you enjoyed my game !

I thought much about the 2 things about the jumps.
As I wanted to made it as a speedgame, it looked me better to do the re-trigger.

For the Variable Jump and the Sprite animations, I was out of time, as it's my first game jam, but it would have been a real improvement.

Thank you for the return !

Thanks for playing and return :)

As I'm beggining in game developement, I didn't have time to setup another hitbox than rectangle.

When I was designing the levels, I a bit forgot about the gifts, but it's true : it would have been a bit funnier if they were sometimes hidden orin a pit.

It would be the same that mouse movement :
I think it would be counted as 3 buttons

No, as you would have 2 buttons used on your mouse.

But you can do for example :
- Holding the button makes you slide
- Clicking the button make you jump.

But you should always keep 1 button

Art is very good. The navigation is really interesting. Music is nice too.

But i'm not a real fan of point-and-click games to be honest.

Good work !

I firstly didn't understand the rules, but now it's ok. The game is a bit too hard tbh, but it's good work !
