Cache manager
Clear browser cache instantly with more control
The Cache Manager in the BrowserStack Testing Toolkit helps testers clear browser cache with granular control—without having to open Chrome settings or DevTools. This is particularly useful when verifying performance, content freshness, or debugging issues that are affected by cached resources.
Key features
- Selective cache clearing based on time range
- Option to clear memory cache, cache storage, or both
- Toggle to clear cache only for the current tab
- Automatic tab reload after cache is cleared
- Lightweight, in-browser experience
Use the Cache Manager
Perform the following steps to manage cache for your Chrome browser:
Click the Testing Toolkit icon in Chrome.
Select Cache Manager from the Productivity Tools section.
On this screen you can use the following features:

Clear cache for current tab only | Toggle ON (default): Clears cache only for the active tab’s domain. Toggle OFF: Applies to all domains visited during the selected time range. |
Time Period | Choose from predefined durations ranging from Last 15 minutes to Everything .This defines the window during which cached data is targeted. |
Web data |
Cache Storage: Persistent cache used by service workers and modern web apps. Memory Cache: Temporarily stored content such as scripts, images, etc. Select one or both checkboxes based on what you want to clear. |
Auto reload the current tab after cleaning data | When enabled, automatically refreshes the tab after clearing the selected cache types. To execute, configure your desired settings, and click the Delete button at the top. The selected cache types are cleared based on your configurations. The page reloads if Auto Reload is enabled. |
