Critics Consensus

Sacha Baron Cohen goes back to a familiar well with diminishing returns in Who Iz I?, a scattershot comedy with some amusing pranks that otherwise only serves to underscore Ali G's faded satirical value.

Who Iz I was never going to be great, but compared to the recent slate of documentaries and unscripted movies released, it seems especially out of step.

Ali G has never felt as sincere as Borat, coming off as less ignorant or just flat stupid. Maybe not as much as some of the right wing lunatics on display who feel wedged in for humorous disbelief in a film light on the big laughs we’ve come to expect.
