Of the large supporting cast, many of whom we will see in the final part, Sheeba Chaddha, as the crafty Manthara, was a delight. No surprises there. Go to Full Review

Even for those who go in with a skeptical eye, or who may be unfamiliar with the story, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend acts as a decent primer on one of the world’s major literary works. Go to Full Review

This respectable and respectful adaptation rolls out the converging stories of the prince Rama and the demon king Ravana with brawny blockbuster-style action and earnest royal intrigue. Go to Full Review

I'm happy to report that the makers of "Ramayana: Part 1" have succeeded at this tremendous challenge, even if it's not what I would call a completely wholesome project. It gets the basics right. Go to Full Review

Grand in scale, rich in detail and rooted in emotion, the film is not content with being a visual spectacle. It also understands the emotional weight of the epic and, more importantly, the human relationships that lie at its heart. Go to Full Review

It’s media-trained mythology: there is no losing in this case, but there is no winning either. Go to Full Review

Bill Y 27 min ago Lots of sound and fury, signifying - well, not much. Fantastic visuals (3d is worth it) but what's lacking is the story-telling. Maybe this legendary story is too complex to distill into a (very long) film. Fans/devotees of this story will probably be disappointed. See more

Arun 56 min ago Breathtaking visuals, stunning, absolutely brilliant, great acting. I know this story through and through. I grew up on this story. I've read the books, I've watched multiple TV shows, and it definitely does it justice. I would highly recommend watching this on the largest PLF or largest screen you can find. The 3 hours and 15 minutes, honestly, it's more like 3 hours. It absolutely flies by. Just a heads up: you don't need to stay if you don't want to for the scrolling credits. The mid-credit scene is about 2 minutes into the credits opening, and then, if you want to, you can leave. Even though it was fast-paced, they still covered a good majority and chunk of the story. I would highly recommend watching the Hindi dub version over the English because, in the 30 minutes that's cut from the English, there's a lot of important subplot that's cut in the English version. Gautham 1 hr ago One of the best Indian movies I have ever watched! The storytelling and pacing are incredibly smooth, and the action sequences are on a whole different level, unlike anything we usually see in Indian cinema. Every actor has delivered an outstanding performance, but Yash and Ranbir Kapoor truly stand out. Not a single moment felt boring, and despite its three-hour runtime, the entire movie flew by like it was just five minutes long. An absolutely incredible cinematic experience! See more
