The Martian is a film about human error, the will to survive, and the responsibility that we have as human beings, not just to the work that we dedicate our lives to, but to one another as people.

A half-hour into The Martian any seasoned moviegoer can figure out where the plotline in this feel-good movie has to go. That's a shame and the film's biggest transgression.

Despite being marketed under the mainstream bait of a "space movie," The Martian is, more than anything, a love letter to science, without ever feeling like a boring textbook.

A wanna-be prestige picture without the visual glamour of 'Gravity' or the emotional oomph of '2001: A Space Odyssey,' 'The Martian' is content with being a commendable piece of popcorn-crunching entertainment.

The Martian was an excellent movie with a great plot, making it one of the best space films I have seen. Matt Damon delivered an outstanding performance and did a fantastic job portraying Mark Watney. The story was engaging, suspenseful, and well-written. The only thing I would have liked to see was more of the rescue mission and a longer look at Watney’s return to Earth. Overall, it was a fantastic film that kept me interested from beginning to end.
