Hidden amongst their tower's matching crust, these smaller bugs would have survived and thrived.

Crustcrawlers are enemies in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They are soft-shelled scramblers encased in coral, mimicking their tower's matching crust to survive.[1]

Behaviour and Tactics

Crustcrawlers aimlessly walk back and forth, frequently pausing briefly. They deal on contact.

They come in two forms, one of which is thinner and slightly taller.

Location

Crustcrawlers can be found in Crust King Khann's memory of the Coral Tower during Act 3.

Trivia

  • Crustcrawlers do not currently react to the Needolin, but they were originally planned to do so.[2]
  • Crustcrawlers could originally walk on the walls of the cut Red Coral Gorge;[3] in the Coral Tower, they only walk back and forth.
  • Crustcrawlers originally had an "inner" pink body that would appear once the red outer shell was broken, which would then be flung and attempt to run away.[4]
